If they're going to move Cat i think the sooner the better.. would hate to disrupt the chemistry if the team is in the playoff picture come trade deadline
Debrincat: We don’t need another $8-$9M player. We need depth. I’d take 3 guys at $3M per vs another $9M player. Trade him.
Pinto: Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. We don’t need another ridiculous contract like Dorion gave to Colin White. Bridge deal (keeping him as a UFA). He’s worth $2M on short term deal. Has not convinced me yet he’s a 3rd line C on a winning team. He could be, but need to see more.

I hate to break it to you, Pillzy. But 20 goal scorers don’t get paid $2.5mil. Pinto is easily worth $4mil (on a contract longer than just one or two years). Look around the league. Really good third line players, on good teams, are making $3-5 depending.

BOS Coyle – $5.25
CGY Top three centers: Backlund – $5.35/Kadri – $7/Lindholm – $4.85
CAR J. Staal – $6/Kotkaniemi – $4.82
VGK Karlsson – $5.9

I could go on, but I think I’ve made my point. Pinto for one or two years, yeah, MAYBE $2.5 mil. But anything more than that, he’s worth $4+
