Since both videos have been met with some rather harsh comments, I thought I would place both topics into one video to get them both out of the way. Here’s the fan code of conduct: https://www.nhl.com/islanders/fans/code-of-conduct

You should do a “Who should Ray Shero Trade for episode” great job.
I think cursing at the players is different from being racist towards the athletes. Heckling is a fun part of a lot of sports environments, and I don't think a kid hearing the occasional curse is that bad, you can't walk down the street without an fbomb being dropped. A kid hearing that certain people shouldn't play a game because of the colour of their skin? That's embarrassingly sad.
Absolutely Shannon. Players should not have to put up with abuse. People use free speech to justify vile, ugly behavior, and it just doesn't fly.
I think the occasional curse is fine. My parents absolutely never cursed around me but I do it all the time because it’s what was done at school. You’re not changing anything by complaining about the dude who said “fuck that was a bad goal”.
However people who use it in every other sentence can get pretty annoying and that I’d understand them being removed
I haven't seen any bias about power rankings, now if you think he's biased then why are you watching? Realize even if Shannon has Vancouver number one next week it doesn't matter because the real standings is what you should be worrying about
No idea why people are mad at your power rankings. I'm a Devils fan and I completely agree with them. They are like 13th overall right now so 14 sounds accurate. When people ask if you watched the game it's not like you're sitting there with no job and 8 tv's watching every game at once. So ignore them and keep it up you do great. As for the freedom of speech fully agree people think they're entitled to everything sometimes.
You’re a good man
I guess everyone that throws a hat on the ice after a hat trick should be removed since its in the rules. There are grey areas regardless of what the rules book says. The rules are there to ensure they have the power to do what they want and to avoid law suites.
Heckling has always been a part of the game in every sport. I'd rather listen to some idiot yelling at the players than everyone walking on egg shells worring about offending someone.
I remember going to an Oilers game, and some legend yelled “fuck you, Trudeau!” after the anthem. Never laughed so hard at a game since then.
Got kicked out of a game in Ottawa because we "drank too much"…weren't being belligerent…didn't yell anything obscene…Ottawa sucks
Shannon is absolutely correct. Freedom of speech means that the government can't prosecute you for saying something. It doesn't mean that you are able to violate the code of conduct of a private business and not get kicked out. The NHL has the right as a business to refuse service to violators. And if you refuse to leave when asked then you become a trespasser and are now in violation of the law. The NHL as a business has private property rights protected by the law.
Why doesn't Dustin Brown get harder treatment when he's a repeat offender and still does crap on the ice?
You don't like people swearing around your kids? Don't bring your kids there. You know people are gonna swear
As a Devils fan I'm okay with 2 games. The rat elbowed Mojo in the back of the head after the whistle and he only got 5 games.
I agree 100% that fans should behave like civilized beings. Most do.
At the Rockford IceHogs games they let you say boo or you suck but that's it and nothing els
I dont get why people get miffed at your power rankings, sometimes i dont agree where you have certain teams but it isnt enough to get all pissed off about it lol
I never knew you were a WWE fan. Who are your favorite wrestlers? I love AJ Styles. After him, I liked Nakamura, Rollins, Ambrose and Kevin Owens. Is this a Smack Down show?
minus 10 points for being a wrestling fan
Jersey didn't win without him he only got a two minute minor. Scored the game winning goal. Game may have been different with a 5 min major the way the power play was working for the lightning. Here is a discussion should linesman be able to call penaltys on plays where is there is intent to injury?
This isn't new, it came up again because of the Pelly incident. I'm seeing online that a Chicago columnist wants the fans to be named. What will that do increase racial tension?
Wow, I hadn't heard that youtube comments could lead to demonetisation issues for a channel in the future. That sounds like a terrible idea. I mean, have the people proposing those ideas even been on the internet for more than 10 seconds? Some select people will go out of their way to make nasty comments, regardless of the content of the video, just to see it get demonetised. I don't know what else to say except I really hope you and other content creators don't get further unwarranted punishment. (Edit: grammar/spelling)
It never ceases to amaze me just how many people have absolutely no idea how to behave in any given situation. It's really not that difficult to figure out what's acceptable and what's not, well it shouldn't be to most sensible, rational folk
I don't think Philly got a copy of the Code of Conduct.
You're missing our point on the Chicago incident. Of course the NHL has the right to kick these guys out, and of course their wide-ranging code of conduct technically prohibits what the fans were doing. But why is it being enforced in this situation when it's so lightly enforced with others?
Example: "Fans may not interfere with the event and/or athletes in any manner."
So if that includes verbal interfere, then why is booing allowed? Why aren't fans thrown out for booing? When the whole stadium starts booing someone, is that not interference? What about hat tricks? Are fans not allowed to throw hats onto the ice for hat tricks anymore?
Of course the rules technically let the NHL throw fans out for these super little things. That's fine if they are enforced consistently, but why does this minor chirp of "basketball" all the sudden cross a line? Yeah, sure, it's targeted at a guy's race. But I don't see why that makes it inherently worse than countless other things fans yell at players all game.
I agree with you on this, and many kids go to the game and they should be able to feel safe and not hear bullshit.
But also.. people are loving it when they fight on the ice, and are pushing them on and yes: Fights are a big thing in the NHL.
Shouldn't that be the topic of discussion when we are getting mad about people shouting stupid things from the stands?
For me, it's way worse that kids see people fight and a full crowd cheering them on, than hearing a bunch of swears or other profanities.
Don't get me wrong though, I agree with you on everything you say here.
I'm curious. Do customers get some kind of compensation/gift card for reporting unruly customers (sports, concerts, movies)? Say a customer leaves his seat to report something & misses the entire OT & shootout because the customer near him is making everyone uncomfortable by the behaviour. It's because the usher is away so the customer had to search for security or customer service.
