  1. This was posted 3 min. Ago…does Dk Ever sleep? Im in Washington State and its even late for me… the life of a reporter isnt as glamorous as Clark Kent made it seem – keep up the great work, we all appreciate it

  2. Something else to consider (regarding the draft), Dubas has a history of trading down. And with this draft class being regarded as unusually deep, I wouldn’t be disappointed if Dubas traded down to acquire more assets. Maybe you can trade that 14th pick to draft later in the 1st round, and get back a roster player, another prospect, or a pick in one of the rounds where the Penguins don’t have a pick.

  3. I don't really care very much about the future right now. How many years of sidney crosby do we have left?
When he retires, there's going to be FAR more than an empty roster spot on this team. Just because you even land a high first round pick, it doesn't guarantee you a high level player that will have an impact at the NHL level.
You could draft 1st overall and get a pretty solid third liner.

Also, the penguins aren't in any position to hold onto this pick. They need WAY too much right now to give this group the best chance to win.
I for one would be VERY disappointed if they held onto this pick and didn't go get a top goaltender with it.
Or use it to trade away a contract
The mess Hextall left with this current roster made this first round selection an absolute luxury that they just cannot afford to keep.

  4. Trade the 14th pick for Collen Hellerbucyk G NOW……Salary cap will 24 million avaliable Granlund buy out

  5. Also, I'd rather see this team gather more draft picks than higher up and use analytics and all that to select a larger group of prospects than those higher up the draft.
Amass forth fifth and sixth rounders and leave the first round picks for closer to when the core actually retires.
By then, some of these lower draft picks will hopefully begin to mature and possibly fill out the roster on the lower end.
Then most likely, after the core retires, there will be a tough few seasons where the pens look like bottom dwellers, but THEN their first rounders actually matter.
It's at THAT time that you really need to amass more in the top end of the draft.

I should be a general manager.
    JK
