Why don’t you just come out and say it? You hate and don’t respect the Jets
If theres a trade for a goalie the leafs would be sending back a goalie , Wonder if the Leafs would Package Nylander and Samsonovs right, plus maybe a draft pick or a prospect.P. to the Jets… because the Jets would need a goalie.
Perhaps Nylander Samsonovs rights, and Robertson for Hellebuyck and Appleton. The leafs need to rebuild their bottom 6. Appleton is a great addition for that. The 900k savings on Nylander for Hellebuyck trade then the 2.16M savings on Appleton. Opens them up Over 3M room to sign Samsonov. (Will probably need 500k-1M more however they will have it.
Appleton to me would be a great replacement for Kampf, Or resign kampf as well and Run Matthews , Tavares, Appleton, Kampf as your centrew.
Would take more than Nylander to land a netminder like Hellebuyck.
Jets woul have to give up more thwn hellebuyck
It would take a lot more than Hellebuyck to get Nylander. Rather get high draft picks back, or Bowen Byram plus a top pick.

Leafs don’t need a goalie. They need a solid D and serious depth. Paying huge $ for a goalie is old school
There has to be a couple of high round picks involve in this one (to Wpg) in order to become a possibility
This trade makes sense from a value standpoint. Maybe now Leafs fans can stop dreaming about returning Norris caliber defensemen on ELC contracts.
