  1. Glad you guys did this…After texting a couple hockey loving buddies my first thought was wondering Sekeres and Price's opinion. I still always hear in my head so many years later, Sekeres start anything he feels strongly about with "Barry…Barry…"

  2. Best logic I've heard yet. No longer will the canucks have to bend over and take it to trade a winger. Hopefully. Lol.

And, hopefully the cap goes up alot by the time the 4mil hits the cap.

  3. So you spend money to get in this fix and take a huge 8 year buyout penalty to do what? Spend more money on players. No one sees the insanity here?

  4. Love the instant reaction!! Signing / acquiring Hronek, Mikheyev, Boeser, Beauvillier and keeping Kuzmenko – this is just us spreading out painful mistakes forward. In the 3rd to 8th year of dead cap, we're going to be handicapped big time. But really, they had no choice.

  5. I’d like to see the Canucks move boeser now for a good dmen or 3rd line center with a lower cap hit, and then retain 1mil on Boesser if they really need to to get a trade done. Sure they could move garland without retaining salary but garland is more valuable to the Canucks than boesser, his all around game is better and with this team healthy I don’t see either player a lock for the top 6, and garland fits the bottom 6 role better, and can fill in when needed

  6. They need pics now so we can have young guys on elc's to cover that dead cap space

  7. I dont know what to think about this move . Oel had s bad contract but now his contract is going to hinder the canucks for even longer period of time . Sometimes the canucks are better just to take the medicine but often it leads to an even worse situation .

  8. Benning will never work in the NHL in a leadership role ever again. 🔥hot take🔥

  9. Wooo-Hoooo!
I like Larsen as a person, but I'm so happy they got this done.

  10. The pain Blake that I think you are referring to comes in years 3 and 4 with a cap hit around 4.7 million. You are still saving 2.5 million in those years because you would have been paying OEL 7.2. Years 5-8 they'll be paying him 2.1 a year but who cares. The cap will likely be pushing 95+ million by then.
