Record-setting night for goaltender Colten Ellis!

Goaltender Colten Ellis was able to tie Philippe Cadorette’s QMJHL record for most career shutouts on Wednesday night.

A member of the Rimouski Oceanic for the past three seasons, it is with the Charlottetown Islanders that the goalkeeper was able to blank his opponents for the 17th time of his career.

After respectively posting seasons of six, three and two shutouts during his time with Rimouski, Ellis was able to set a new Charlottetown franchise record by earning a sixth shutout in only his 19th start of the campaign.

The 20-year-old netminder from Antigonish, Nova Scotia was selected by the Cape Breton Eagles with the 59th pick of the 2016 QMJHL Draft. He was also drafted in the third round, 93rd overall, by the St-Louis Blues during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
