Recent news out of Calgary says that he’s not going to resign there. By far the biggest selling card of his game is that he’s a 6’3 207 pound D-man who contributes on both ends of the ice. He’s also only 26 and would slot into the 2LD spot behind Hughes.
A new contract for him would be somewhere in the neighborhood of Mackenzie Weegar’s (8 x 6.25M). Would he be a player worth trading the 11th overall pick to get? Or should we stay well away from him?

I would love him on our team…
But please don’t trade the pick. Just draft a D man.
That has a high chance of becoming OEL 2.0 I feel like
Word is they want a top 6 winger as part of the trade.
Does something like Garland/Boeser + Höglander work for Calgary?
After OEL do we have enough money for him?
I’d be all over this. Top pair LHD and only 26. The asking price seems reasonable from what I’ve seen and if the extension is long term in the low 6’s that’s a steal
A lower cost option we could consider would be trading for the rights to Ryan Graves and Micheal McLeod for a pair of third round picks and a prospect
11th & Garland for the 16th & Hanifin?
I’d actually entertain a Kuzmenko for Hanifin swap, but I doubt the club would.
Would he sign in Canada though? He’s from Boston area I think, I could see him wanting to sign out east.
He’s from Boston, it’s likely that he wants to go back to states.
We’ve got our 2 high paid D in Hughes and Hronek. Can we really afford a third? We’re better off rounding out the top 4 with cheaper defence first Dmen
I hate this. We already have two high salary offensive defensemen in Hughes and Hronek and we’re gonna add a third? Would much rather they get a couple of solid stay at home defenders in the 3M range.
He doesnt want to resign cause its Canada… hes going to an american team
If we could sign and trade i would trade down 11 to 16 for hanafin if we can sign him something like 8×6.
Out of cap hell for 1 day and we’re already trying to get in trouble again.
I would personally like to see them give some short term contracts to guys like dakota joshua. They have done a pretty good job finding decent players that havent been given a big chance…
We never have cap, let other teams get in trouble, and take advantage.
It won’t happen, but that’s what I’d like
