On July 1st, the Devils will sign Timo Meier to an 8-year contract extension worth $96 million ($12 million AAV a year).
Trey is really really weird dude. On his own (the long and rambling) podcast the day of the signing he said NJ paid a little higher for Bratt. Yet in this interview he says its a good price 🤣🤣🤣
This man NEEDS to seriously think through what wishes to state before he says it because the more you listen to him…..the more goofy it gets.

And Timo was no XFACTOR. What an absurd statement. Timo did virtually nothing to beat the Rangers (except get his face broken by Trouba) and during the regular season Timo single handedly lost games for NJ taking terrible undisciplined penalties.
All this while scoring plummeted.

Meiers contracts doesn't automatically go to $8.5 mil because the Devils filed for arbitration. It can go as low as, but it's ip to the arbiter. Also the Severson contract isn't a good one. It's a projected $1.5m overpay in year 1. It could be a much bigger overpay long term. Trey usually doesn't know what he is talking about
