  1. We had TB-Carolina-Anaheim from 04-07 and Washington-St Louis 18/19. You also have Chicago & Boston ending long droughts sprinkled in there, along with LA getting their first. Championships may have come in bursts for a few teams (TB/Pit/Chi/LA), the same could be said about teams winning their first.

  2. Quebec City will win the cup before Toronto. I know they don't have a team. I believe they will get a team and win before the Leaf's ever will.

  3. The most likely in the near future (within 5 years) Ottawa, Seattle, Florida and Buffalo. I think Minnesota would be in that group, but with their buyout limits they'd need everything to go perfectly and I just don't see that happening for fans in the Twin Cities. Fans of the Vikings, Wild and Timber Wolves will know what I'm referencing…

  4. I'd say Buffalo, Seattle and Florida are good bets – Buffalo could even surprise us as soon as next season, with the right moves.

  5. Does anyone think Winnipeg would be willing to give up Josh Morrisey or Neil Pionk to Florida for maybe say Sam Reinhart and/or Spencer Knight? I think that would be a win for FLA

  6. Tampa Bay has the misfortune of being a bad franchise that has a question mark next to all of their Cup "wins".

  7. Love to see Ottawa and Buffalo make the playoffs this season, just like last season, but it's not going to be easy for either of them until they address goaltending; especially with the moves in Columbus. Florida are probably going to have some LTIR cash to spend for the trade deadline, so provided enough players can keep them competitive until injured bodies return they'll be back to contending.

It's hard to know how good the Canucks will be with a healthy Demko again (hopefully not getting overplayed to death again) until we see how this team competes in the difficult parts of the schedule, instead of playing like game 7 in the easiest part of the schedule against back up goalies and teams trying to tank. Calgary probably rebounds and Winnipeg are in tough, but it's going to be tough for Vancouver to make it back into the playoffs with the rise of Seattle.

  8. Levi’s 7 games for Buffalo would put them on pace for 116 points, if I’m not mistaken. And he will only get better.

  9. Pens fan here. I think the Sabres will absolutley make the playoffs and make some noise. I see the Sabres in the finals in two years. Young , fast, and if they get some goaltending, they could make the finals next summer. I have been to their barn. Buffalo fans are rock solid people!

  10. ARZ there no shot the will ever get a SC i dont see it and secondly CBJ while there are parts there that are working they had never something (unfortunately) to get there hopes up for the playoffs.

  11. I say Nashville will be next. Ottawa & Columbus should've won a cup a long time ago.
