For a while Elias Pettersson was rumoured to be the choice for the next Canucks captain. Fortunately those rumours soon dissipated. Fans came to their senses and re-anointed Quinn Hughes future captain. As everyone knows, a captain always goes down with the sinking ship. Pettersson won't have to do this now. He'll be free to play for a good team.
