I just wanna hear discussion on this. I am only proposing a prove-it contract of 1-2 seasons (preferably 1).
Pros:
-He’s gonna be extremely cheap after his buy out, so might not prevent a UFA forward signing/trade.
-He’s a LHD which we need help in that position.
-We might be able to trade him at the deadline along with our other prove-it contracts.
-It’s the last year of Scandella, so could be a good try-out if it works out.
-The buy out is for 4 seasons, so we could see salary cap savings for the rest of his career.
-It’s not like Vancouver or Arizona are good opportunities.
Cons:
-Age is 31
-How do you even get bought out of Vancouver?

Would be interested on our end but he should have more than enough interest to not have to take that offer unless there was some other reason to play here.
We already have too many (bad) LD. We need to get rid of Scandella, Left, Krug, not add another bad decision to that side.
