This would be great if the price is right. He is still young and once the joey and duchene contracts roll off the books the cap won’t be an issue once again.
I really like Alex Debrincat, but I really hope the Preds stay away. Brunette is coming in and from all accounts, he seems to prefer the dump and chase, high speed style of play. Debrincat doesn’t thrive in that. I think and hope the front office focuses on the draft and working on getting out from large contracts over the next two years instead of locking into a long term deal with a player like Debrincat.
This isn’t a knock on Debrincat, it is really hoping that the team realizes that they are way more than one piece from a deep playoff run and that they don’t need a splashy signing or trade for a player immediately. Deal with what you have and draft some game changers.
