This is legitimately surprising. I figured he’d want to test the market. He is definitely a unique skill set compared to everyone else on our team. Also wouldn’t be surprised if this means Jost isn’t back.
He deserves to be on a good Sabres team. He has gone through the shit with all of us. Glad to have him back even though roster spots are tight.
..really, that is disappointing, He is done. Move on. We have a lot of young talent that could use that roster spot.

So we unload Vic, bring up Kulich, and that’s it at forward? I feel like we can do better than this. We were already in trouble with almost zero roster spots for young guys, and this just perpetuates the logjam. Love Gus but good lord.
I love Gerge.. but I didn’t think he’d be back. I thought he would take a spot of one of the kids if he stayed? No?
Great. We keep a much needed player, he gets paid well and the contract runs out before we’ll need to worry about the cap.

Kulich is starting in the AHL. He’ll be first or second call-up. They don’t have hinistroza this year to take that extra spot so there may be more activity. There is room for Jost (or an upgrade) on this roster here. I also think that this season, if he shows out in camp, that Savoie gets the nod over Kulich just because of the waiver rules and league agreements.
Time will tell. I will say that I have more confidence in the leadership of this team. Let’s see what they come up with.

Wonder why only one year?
Draft well, stockpile high quality prospects, develop them, and then block their path to the pros by bringing back guys who wouldn’t even be a healthy scratch on most rosters.
