  1. brutal questions jeez, clearly he doesnt want to talk about why hes stunk with the leafs..

  2. Gotta feel for the guy. Leafs expected too much from him and should’ve realized he was a 3rd/4th liner. Thought he played well on a line with Simmonds. They didn’t give him very much time on the PP and decided to stick with Keefe’s favourite Engvall. Engvall doesn’t provide much but costs less. Ritchie didn’t seem to cost the Leafs any games and brought an element they will need in the playoffs. Hopefully they bring in one or two more players that can bring a physical element. He’ll probably go somewhere like Arizona and put up decent numbers

  3. It's neither disrespectful or unprofessional to simply say: " I'd definitely rather be in the NHL and I believe in my ability to play there, that being said I'm down here, and the reasons why are between myself and the Toronto Maple Leafs. I look ahead to playing with the guys here."

Instead we get this whole sphinx riddle jubberish spoken as if under oath for murder.

  4. The legacy media is completely shameless. Eff legacy media. Leave the guy alone and wish the Maple Leafs good luck!

  5. The guy played himself off the Leafs still getting paid his NHL contract. So go down work your butt off and prove your to good to be in the AHL and hope your called up for playoffs or traded.

  6. Man… I really hoped Ritchie worked out for the leafs. As a life long leafs fan, till this day my favourite aspect of hockey is the physicality and stepping up for teammates, it’s completely different than any other sport. Last year in FA when the leafs picked up Ritchie i thought we hit a gold mine in terms of what he brings to the ice. IMO Ritchie is still a lock to be a NHL player who got caught up in this toronto-Dubas BS, I still don’t know why the leafs build 4 skill lines and demand all 12 forwards to produce. Even if Ritchie didn’t produce in X amount of games, you gotta keep him there in the 4th line and let him grow into the culture and system of the leafs. Remember Ritchie is a hitter and net front presence who’s not the best skater. He is supposed to take time into adapting and improving his game to match the leafs build. I understand the 2.5 M cap hit, but they’re doing the same trial and error with Holl and dermott. Even when they don’t perform. My last point, look at Calgary with Nikita Zadorov, this guy is a below average skater, and defenseman but is extremely physical and is used only for that. Guess what he makes.. 3.75 M. Nick if you by chance see this, love you’re playstyle bro. I hoped so much you’d fit with this team and make us a cup contender.

  7. He's clearly not happy to be in the minors, but he kept very professional here.
You know he wants to vent.
Fact of the matter is, he just wasn't good enough to justify being in the current lineup
I really wanted Ritchie to work, though. Hopefully he gets another crack and takes advantage of it.

  8. For some reason he just couldn't find his groove here in Toronto. Don't know why and we'll probably never know. Sometimes a player signs with his hometown team and just doesn't find his game. He's not the first David Clarkson couldn't find his way either!!!

  9. It’s the coaching style, Muzzin, Bogosian Clifford and Ritchie came in as physical players and simply stopped. If that is what was asked from them they would play that type of hockey. Even Simmonds is not playing that type of hockey minus fighting and no drafted leafs players have added that to their game literally look at the defence are a bunch of pansies.

  10. Why has it not worked out with the leafs??
    He sucked
    He couldn’t keep up
    He looked out of shape
He was a liability out on the ice
    He never threw a hit
    He couldn’t score
He couldn’t set any one up
He didn’t play like he wanted to contribute anything at anytime, anywhere!
He only has himself to blame, maybe he should watch tape in how his brother plays and replicate that style!!!

  11. Just couldnt find his offensive game here. Got snakebitten early and couldnt shake it. He will sign elsewhere and get his game back. Lots of NHL games left for Ritch.

  12. Dude! If he would only get this angry on the ice! Hopefully this wakes him tf up…..sadly, he gone

  13. What a sad interview… I mean he didn’t work but I mean Jesus, he seems so sad he couldn’t do more.
