**as long as he stays healthy** and is able to play close to a full season, which other then the 56 game season, he hasn't done. The most he played was his rookie season, of 68 games.
Maybe the Leafs can get Chychrun AND Timo Meier, and only have to give up Kerfoot, Pierre Envall and a first rounder! Every GM in the league wants to give their best players to Toronto for nothing. Make it happen Kyle!

The Leafs biggest need IMO is on the PK. They also shouldn't be using Marner on the PK unless they are down in the back half of the game. They get enough offense 5 on 5 and on the PP. I would be looking to add a good depth D who can be a beast blocking shots and clearing out the front of the net and a good two way winger preferably with a bit sandpaper. Put Roberston or Knies on the block along with 2nd or 3rd round picks. Get er done Dubas!!!
This move makes even more sense to ke now that we know Muzzin is unfortunately not coming back. We need a blue liner now, it's no longer a question.
In what world does it make sense for a rebuilding team like Arizona to take an older and worse D in Reilly. Toronto doesn't have the assets LA could offer.

Honestly I think jets could offer better package pionk+Lucius,Heinola 2nd for chychrun and Ritchie.
I think we have most interesting packages that can be made.
Stanley,Pionk,Heinola,Wagner, Lucius, Lambert,Mcgroarty, Gustafson,Barron,maybe even Samberg. Plus have all our picks 1st,2nd,3rd can definitely bring in a top guy chychrun,provorov,sanheim,klingberg or forwards like toews,domi, Crouse, meier.
Chychrun is an unreal player and I kinda hate him for not wanting to stick around AZ. He is alot more than a pp guy and his 5v5 game is amazing.

In a vacuum I’d entertain Rielly for Chychrun I just have a hard time moving a player who only JUST signed back with you just to immediately give up and trade him elsewhere. Sounds like it would send a bad message to other players around the league that you could be disposed of even if you commit to staying and you think you and your family will be able to stay there for awhile.
If anything wouldn’t the leafs be looking at off loading Defense?
Looks like they have a lot of contracts that aren’t being utilized via IR or they are healthy scratches.
Don’t forget the guys who played well that got sent back down to the marlies as well. Holloway was impressive to watch.
My guess if they are going to pull the trigger it will be with contracts going out and a top 6 lw coming in 🤷♂️
