  1. I totally agree with you on this one. Young guys need ice time. They need to play in all situations. They need to learn how to win.

  2. Yes on paper it looks good for wright development but Slaf for me learned how to be a pro and the speed of the NHL and what it takes to be a NHLer i have confidence he will have a good year next season under MSL i see the positive side on Slaf, i wouldn't trade the farm for a player that never played a game in the NHL certain prospects don't always live up to the hype, i keep my no5 draft spot unless some team calls HUGO, then the Habs would be in the power position. Great video Coach

  3. Not Roy! That would be too much to give away. He's homegrown, his +/- was + 69 during reg. season and as i remember it , Conor Bedard was almost invisible until Roy was put on his line at the world juniors🥴 ,if we have to give up somebody then the trade could be #5, 1st round next year + Edmundson( he suits their style of play), which would also helps us by freeing up some salary cap. Or instead of Edmundson – Rohrer. I am not willing to give up Roy, Ridley or Beck unless the return from Anaheim is more than #2( Fantilli)

  4. Montreal !!!
Wright joined a team full of veterans so it's not really a fair comparison, but coach we'll have our answer next year GO HABS GO 💕

  5. 39 NHL games vs 8, Slaf got way more experience. For me, if you’re playing in the minor leagues you are NOT developing!!! You play with way less talented and slower players, if anything you worsen a player’s skills playing in the minors. That’s just my opinion and I know you disagree Coach 😂

  6. Shane had more ice time and at different levels so he is the winner here but Slaf is a longer term development schedule so this coming season it will be is show and if he does not show improvement at all he is going to be sent down the tubes , what is a winner here is attitude and slaf wins hands down and we need his big body , we have to forget all the injuries so this coming season is a make or brake for all thosde that got injuries , going up down rumours are just rumours , lets see what will really happen then we can give an opinion on the trades

  7. If worried michkov is on the board when habs are up, if im the habs i just choose someone else thats all. I do not live in fear of fomo…..ghg!!

  8. As a long suffering Dallas Cowboys fan, I empathize with Canucks fans here in BC about the frustration of a meddling team owner. The buyout of OEL is a horrible move brought on by the desperation of the situation the franchise is in directly due to moves that indicate they have no clear direction. Their moves seem to contradict and they always seem to be reactive and not proactive. I think its a given that Quinn Hughes will move on in '27 and that Beauvillier will want to test the market as a UFA end of next season and the Canucks will trade him for a poor return at the deadline.

  9. He should have played mainly in the AHL and be able to compete for his country imho. With a few NHL games sprinkled in.

This year, he should start in the AHL, but they are kind of being stubborn I feel, and the whole situation seems a bit weird.

Fortunately, injuries should be handled better next year with the personnel change. It's good news (really really hard to do worst than last year though :P).

  10. I was sixteen years old when Yvan Cournoyer was brought up to the Canadiens. He paid his dues sitting on the bench and only scored seven goals in fifty-five games in his first full season. Juraj Slafkovsky is paying his dues and will break out within the next 2 or 3 years. He's still a teenager.

  11. i think shane has the drive now tks to montreal and he will be the better of the two in three years..

  12. Heck Coach, I still am not certain as to which team chose best at draft…still uncertain if Wright wasn’t the best pick. I hope Roy stays in the HABS prospect group.

  13. Hi coach! I totally agree with your assessment of Slav and Shane because the more ice time, the better. ⛸⛸

  14. On the Pros side, Slaf got to be around the big team getting to know his teammates. He also learned that the big leagues can hurt if you don't protect yourself. He knows he can score goals at the elite level and he also showed us that he can score with different shots and angles. He showed some greatness in bursts which foreshadowed a bright future. Though he would have played a bigger role at a lower level he strikes me has the type of guy that can learn faster at an elite level.

  15. Roy would not be enough.
You need better . I’m not sure Kane Hutson would be enough, mailloux either

  16. Well I think I may have inspired you for this. You know my opinion. I have said injuries can happen to any player at any level. But we clearly saw with Slafkovsky… how badly he was being hit. He took 6 brutal hits in 39 games… hits that were worse then all of the hits Suzuki and Caulfield took in there ENTIRE Careers… theHabs blew a year of ELC which was very silly… I say the Habs put Slaf in the position to be injured after 39 games

Meanwhile Seattle played Wright perfectly. Wright got a ton of high level hockey including valuable AHL AND OHL PLAYOFF TIME.

I guarantee that Wright understands that he is not ready for the NHL…. HE WAS SERVED HUMBLE PIE… this should make him work for it

Meanwhile Slaf likely thinks he belongs in theNHL….IN HIS YOUNG MIND,,,, he thinks likely that he deserved to be in the NHL

    When he did not….

Seattle have done a great job

Meanwhile Wright still playing in finals of Calder cup

  17. I agree. Slafkovsky should be playing more minutes and during all phases of the game (pp, pk, 5 on 5). He won’t get that chance in NHL so he needs to be developing and playing more important minutes in the AHL
