Osgood was robbed of a vezina in 96, flash in the pan jim carry won instead.
That alone and he's a lock for the now HOVG.

I believe yzerman gives us more info than is often acknowledged. Atleast for the die hard fans, those of us that consume red wings content/info everyday, all year round. Those of us that talk red wings/hockey all the time because we love the game aswell as the buisness side, the inner workings. We understand the poker game GM's are playing. We know yzerman isnt giving direct answers to most questions. Even if he wanted to, he cant divulge his plans for the offseason, that's collusion.
The good beat writers get tidbits out of him with reasonable less direct questions.
It's up to us to read between the lines.
Ultimately anything we can speculate or ideas we have regarding player acquisition( reasonable and realistic) yzerman has thought it and kicked tires, or else he isnt doing his job.
We're smart, we've got an idea of where the team is at and what yzerman is trying to do.
Its exciting what will unfold in the next 7-11 days. We will have answers to quite a few questions!!
