  1. HE LEFT FAMILY FRIENDS AND MILLIONS OF FANS FOR A 10% RAISE WHEN THE COST OF A HOME IN HOLLYWOOD AND THE COSTOF MOVEMENT AND THE HIGHEST TAXES IN THE US WHERE THE GOVERNOR IS BEING IMPEACHED BY THE PEOPLE. THE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF HOMELESS PEOPLE WILL SHOW HIS CHILDREN THE FLAWS IN THE CORRUPT SYSTEM!HE SAYS!…. THAT'S HEAVEN COMPARE TO THE RESPECT AND SUPPORT OF THE COUNTRY!!!! GREAT MOVE IF YOU'RE BLIND! WAITTILL THEY FIND OUT no goals….in the net!!! two years and he'll be looking for move!!!!

  2. Playing in a Canadian market, especially Montreal or Toronto is really tough to be in the spotlight like that, they can't take a walk without someone harassing them

  3. Players who just signed in their new respective teams always says the right things. They always have good things to say about their new home. Danault is just trying to make his new nobody status sound good. He was important in Montreal and people noticed him.

  4. Diehard LA Kings fan here, I literally only watch the NHL and UFC, so not all of us just go watch the other local teams. A good chunk of us really only care about the kings. But yes, a lot of casuals are just huge Lakers or dodgers fans. You will see the kings fandom pick up when the team gets good, we’ve been bad for some years now so hockey in LA isn’t the hottest rn

  5. Yeah I'd say LA is a lot more laid back when it comes to hockey. When we won the cup in 2012 and 2014 it felt weird seeing the Kings start to have a larger presence in LA which was awesome but you could tell more obviously that the popularity dwindled as the team got worse. Personally I don't think I would prioritize my other teams like the Dodgers and Lakers just because the Kings suck. Right now I usually to watch them all equally, but if Kings we're good again I'd be more focused and excited to watch them because hockey's my favorite sport. I do agree that having the Dodgers and Lakers help but I'm still invested in the Kings whether we're winning or losing.

  6. Awesome video Lego! Danault is an amazing shutdown center that felt like he has a much higher offence ceiling then what he was given credit for . I feel like he's going to have a better understanding of where he stands offensively with the team like LA

  7. I definitely care quite a bit and will go in on the Kings when they deserve it, but he's also not wrong about having other things to care about lessening the blow. Having other teams to pay attention to doesn't mean I don't care a lot about the Kings, though.

  8. I didn't get the impression that Danault was throwing shade at Montreal. The question was spun to draw out the contrast between the way the cities see their hockey players, and particularly the upside of the LA environment. Phil seems like a good guy, and I can't wait to see him play for the Kings!

  9. I love the Kings but I also love USC football, Dodgers & Rams when it comes to LA teams. Even a former team the Raiders too.

  10. if you cant handle the pressure of playing pro sports then you shouldnt play in pro sports and get paid the big bucks.

  11. In LA for the dodgers they have SUPERSTARS! Max muncy, mookie betts, Clayton Kershaw, Corey seager, Chris Taylor, Will Smith. For the Lakers in Lebron, Anthony Davis, now Russell Westbrook

  12. The Kings are my number 1 team in LA. This rebuild hasn't been fun but what the club has done with the prospect pool is exciting. But it's true if the Kings lose we have the Lakers, Dodgers and Rams to also follow. Can't wait to see Phillip Danault in a Kings jersey

  13. The Kings don't have a championship legacy like Lakers and dodgers, they need to win about 5-6 cups total. There aren't Kings fans or dodgers fans or even laker fans, we are LA fans. We root for our city teams not just one in particulier

  14. He put up his house for sale before the end of the season. He's saying my scoring no gaol in 28 games in a row wont matter. Way to do L'A' you took the guy on vacation.

  15. Lakers> Dodgers> Rams >USC> UCLA> Chargers> LA Angels> LA Kings> LAFC> LA Galaxy> LA Sparks> Taylor Swift Banner> Clippers> "Anaheim" Ducks

  16. Some Hab fans really attacking Danault after being the back bone of a SCF run. The guy is a human being. He says he doesn’t want to be nervous entering a restaurant and being swarmed while with his family. What’s wrong with that?

  17. That reminds me Domi saying that Columbus had a way better locker room, team spirit… Than habs. Do they just try to please their new team and fanbase or do they try to convince themself that they did the right choice?

  18. A big chunk of the LA fan base is made of former Montrealers and Ontario natives. lol. Also funny, when actors go to Montreal they get a break from paparazzi, when Montréal hockey players move to LA, they get a break from the media and fans.

  19. makes sense. A lot of players love playing in florida as well because its the same thing. They get noticed way less then they would in big hockey markets. They can live a more normal life.

  20. He is probably thinking big $ in MTL with potentially no production and then pressure etc. One word: Drouin. Although Danault is is different player (defense hard work) and should not have been scared of a big contract with no goals. I understand him however a little. Not the end of the world.

  21. I wish Phil luck with the Kings. It will be a much different market for him in LA. The media won't be all over him especially being French Canadian in Montreal. I do think k LA may regret that contract in a couple years when their young centre's who have offense take his ice time

  22. Good now they can trade Turcotte to the Rangers for Lundqvist + whatever, like a 2nd round pick. Or just Vilardi for Lundqvist.

  23. Bro you have to visit Montreal and Quebec City. Absolutely beautiful in the Spring-Christmas. Like Europe in North America. I’d suggest going for the “opening of the terraces” , which is like May or June, I forget, or go around Christmas and bring your winter gear. But any time in between really perfect.

  24. I'm a Kings fan through and through, but I'm also a Lakers fan and a Dodgers fan. Being a fan of the other teams doesnt mean I'm less of a Kings fan.

  25. I am a Kings fan living in LA and have been loyal to the KIngs. I don't watch football and I don't really care about basketball or baseball. That being said, I don't get too bent when the Kings lose though I do get quite happy when they win. I think it maybe too simplistic to say that the fans are not ardent just because there are ample distractions in LA. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch and I remain a fan whether the Kings win or slump. Being a Kings fan I know about the lean times and optimistically wait for the good years. Watching another LA team do well does not provide the same contentment, to me, as a King's win.

  26. Wish him all the best, but definitely not worth 5.5mil. I don't think he will be a game changer in LA being a 2nd line center.
He is an amazing 3rd line center worth max 4mil per season

  27. There is longstanding French Canadian legacy here. Danault will be at home here. Luc..Pat..Michel Voyer..James Gasseau and many others.

  28. No hard feelings on the guy, he’s right about the mental pressure playing in Montreal. But it was pretty clear that he was ready to move on from Montreal and enjoy a more ‘balanced’ life.

Living in LA making millions, whether they know your name or not, he had his share of that already. He’s smiling all the way to ‘paradise’

  29. Depends…if you’re an LA fan, you can do the other team thing. But, if you’re a Kings fan, the Kings fans are some of the most hardcore of all hockey fans. We live and die with our Kings. But, that being said, we are overall polite to our NHLers and are just a higher quality of fan. We don’t trash out loud our players and we cheer Gary Bettman when he comes to town. We’re not the riffraff of LA, we never riot. The riffraff are all Lakers and Dodgers fans it seems. Many of us were born into hockey fandom due to the arrival of Wayne Gretzky…perhaps it’s Gretzky’s graceful example once again that influences the Kings fans and organization. As for our die-hardedness, those who endured the heartbreak of 93 and the desolation of the next ten years including trading away Wayne, the uncertainty of ownership, Sam the disaster GM, losing Rob Blake, all the way til the day GM Dean Lombardi convinced owner Philip Anschutz to go full rebuild…we who endured are the strong and proud.

  30. Players will be players and GM’s will be GM’s, players all say they want to stay, untill they leave, and GM’s say a player is not going to be traded untill he is. Then they praise the next place and kind of bash the previous. Nothing new here.

Can’t blame Danault to find LA a nice city, and its funny to hear about the pressure being negative now, but it being a motivation factor when playing here.

I bet that even Kutcherov would like to feel like a star player once in his career. Not happening in Tampa for sure. And probably explains why he couldn’t grasp the concept of fans celebrating a win in the stanley cup finals as much as Montreal fans did. That single win meant there would be another game vs not seing any hockey for a while. Thats huge and yes, MTL is looong overdue for a cup, so coming this close meant a lot to everyone

  31. I've been a hardcore King's fan since 69 and I would notice a King walking around. Tons of LA fans hate LaBron and couldn't care less about movie stars. The NBA in general has lost a TON of interest. The LA. Dodgers, however… now that's a different story. They own this town. There are a ton of hockey fans in LA, but this town is HUGE in size. There is the beach, snow skiing and a million other things to do. I think part of it is we are so used to seeing famous people we're kind of numb to it.

  32. He should have a shrine to the habs..their system, structure made all this possible for him lol. Let's see how different he is now in l.a that defence system Montreal plays made him look so much better..watch and see..
