Quick Look at Draft Prospect Brady Tkachuk

Where does he go at the draft? I still think he is a lock for fourth overall. Let me know your thoughts.

  1. right or wrong, the habs take zadina.

maybe arizona tries to swap with the sens to grab tkachuk.

  2. Sam Bennett couldn't do any pull ups because he had a shoulder injury, he's actually a pretty tough kid, he's proven that where it really matters, on the ice

  3. I might be wrong but I think the birthday is a factor for some detractors, he was born hours away from being eligible last year. Personally I could see Ottawa going slightly off the board with Hughes, Wahlstrom, or another guy their scouts might love but they'll probably go with Tkachuk and that will be a solid pick.

  4. As a sens fan I would love to see Tkachuk on the podium at #4, heā€™s exactly what Ottawa needs up front

  5. Montreal seems really high on Kotkaniemi. Don't be surprised if they drop down to take him. I don't think they'll want to drop too far down to risk another team grabbing him. I'm hearing Detroit is high on Zadina (I've also heard Bouchard). I could see them working something out. Regardless, I think Kotkaniemi is being projected too low. I'm expecting him to crack top 10, even if Montreal doesn't take him. I think Tkachuk drops lower than 4. Now, we can see if I'm right with any of this in a couple weeks.

  6. zadina apparentley said that he doesnt think montreal would draft him because they need a center or defenseman, which i find pretty interesting if montreal does a small reach and drafts hughes/boqvist/bouchard or even might trade their 3rd overall maybe to islanders for both their 11 and 12 so they can draft veleno and maybe ty smith

  7. Montreal drafts zadina then they trade some things to slot into sixth overall and draft dobson

  8. I like Brady tkachuck a lot, but I'd take wahlstrom before him. I think he will go between 8 to 10th pick.

  9. Overrated. It is just the name on his back. Look at the points he puts up, no where near to his brother. Kotkaniemi, Hughes, etc. He should not go before 10 really

  10. Tkachuk's stock is raised because of his name, not the other way around.

His USDP numbers are much worse than his brothers were, (Brady: 0.88pt% vs Matthew: 1.46pt%) and honestly his production with BU isn't impressive enough to justify him being a top 5 pick.

He's a good prospect, underrated by many, but if his last name wasn't Tkachuk he would be a mid first rounder imo.

  11. Zadina. I don't even understand how this is a discussion on so many fan sites. #1 > Dahlin. #2 > Svechnikov. #3 > Zadina. I could see in a rare move Canes go Zadina to be with Necas – although highly unlikely, but slight possibility, but I can't imagine any scenario where Mtl does not pick Zadina if he's at three – unless there is something terribly wrong with him that no one else on the planet picked up until the draft (intense sarcasm implied) then any other pick would be… well… stupid.

  12. This is my Top 10:

    1. Buffalo – Dahlin (gimme)
    2. Carolina – Svechnikov (pretty much a gimme)
    3. Montreal – Zadina (could see MTL moving down to get both NYI picks for this one)
    4. Ottawa – Boqvist (his idol is Karlsson, and has great potential, they have a few forward prospects coming up so a defensive one would be good and he's blue chip)
    5. Arizona – Tkachuk (would be a good complementary piece to Strome/Keller)
    6. Detroit – Bouchard (I'd rather go with Wahlstrom as a Detroit fan, but I have a feeling Bouchard meets every criteria Detroit is looking for; puck moving defensemen, right handed shot, PP specialist, big)
    7. Vancouver – Hughes (BPA, defensive need, gifted to them)
    8. Chicago – Wahlstrom (BPA, jealous, gifted to them, they need a D, but can't pass up on Wahlly)
    9. Rangers – Dobson (they really want him, and luck is fortunate for NYR fans)
    10. Edmonton – Smith (pretty much all the tier A, B, and C guys are off the board here, so they'll just draft for positional need whether it be Smith or Wilde)

Guessing who the superstars are is fun. I think a Lucic is the best case scenario with Tkachuk. 40-60 point range, gritty, agitator type player. I don't think that's worth a top 10 pick, maybe 11-31. Part of me thinks Zadina will end up kinda like how Pavel Zacha is right now. Svechnikov and Dahlin will be stars I'm sure. Boqvist is going to be an above average player, maybe like how OEL is. Bouchard is probably going to be solid but never put up spectacular numbers, maybe 30-45 points. Hughes I think will be similar to how Morgan Reilly is right now. The guy I think that will really break out as a superstar is Oliver Wahlstrom. He has the big league shot, is a good skater, he has some grit to him, and will find his defensive game. I feel like Kotkaniemi will bust. Dobson will be okay, nothing too special, maybe in his 30s people will recognize how solid he actually is. I'm going to take a stab saying that the best later 1st round pick is going to be Dominik Bokk, who I have going to St. Louis.

  13. Rumours that Montreal doesn't like Zadina though, could very well go 3rd.

  14. I think he should go at 7th..

I just think he's overrated.. there are better prospects this year imo

However he might become a stud.. who knows! But i doubt he's gonna be a 80+ point guy

I might get hate for this but i'm just saying my opinion

  15. Lmao at people still being obsessed with size. Lawson Crouse was 6'4 210 at 18 as well.

Brady Tkachuk is not very good, he's not close to Matthew Tkachuk's level of skill. He'll be a middle 6 winger.

Still remember your reaction about Elias Pettersson lol, probably becasue he was 165 1bs.

  16. I think 30-40 goals is a little bit of a goofy projection. he only got 8 goals in the NCAA this year (and he's one of the older kids in this draft as a '99), which is 0.20 GPG which equals out to 16.4 goals/82 games in a much tougher league. It all depends on development but I don't see him cracking 25 at BEST

  17. do you imagine having logan brown and tkachuk on the same line XD

  18. Ottawa drafts tkatchuk:
    Ottawa trades Hoffman Ceci Condon

    Dzingle-Duchene-Ryan
    Stone-Pageau-Tkatchuk
    Gaborik-Brown-White
    Smith-Luchuk-macormick

    Chabot-Ek
    Wolanin-wideman
    Harpur-Boro

    Andy
    Hogberg
