Flyers reportedly turn down 1st+2nd from Blues for Scott Laughton
NHL insider Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) reported on The DFO Rundown podcast today that Daniel Briere has already turned down a haul for Scott Laughton:
25th or 29th overall pick, future 2nd round pick

I mean. Idk if he’s a guy we would want to build around. I’d rather roll with a first round pick tbh. I don’t know a lot about his game. But he’s a career .38 PPG center and that doesn’t move the needle much.
I would think that is good value for Laughton.
However, I’m fine with it being turned down. I would like to see Sundqvist filling a similar role.
Yeaaa idk why they’re valuing him so much. He’s a decent player but that’s just a tad bit steep for what he brings. Maybe I’m wrong and a change of scenery sparks his game but I’d rather make the picks if that’s the asking price.
Not sure if true but if it is then thank god they turned that down
Get some good D instead that’s what she said
Army makes some stupid moves, but over paying on a trade is not one of them. I can’t see this being true. Laughton isn’t at all remotely worth a first round pick. I highly doubt this is true
Armstrong making horrible asset management moves and apparently wanting to make poor asset management moves like that are exactly why I did not renew my STH for this season. Yikes. lol
Nothing gets to us without a motive in sports. This could be his agent drumming up interest. The flyers drumming up interest. Army trying to show he’s doing something.
Overall everyone shitting on it, picks outside of the top 10 are basically magic beans. I’d deal a magic bean for a guy that’s a solid middle 6 making less than 1 mil in our situation
Laughton is a really good player tbh. That said I don’t understand the rationale of offering this for him
Why would the Blues offer a first and 2nd round pick for a 29 year old 20-30 point player who’s never scored more than 18 goals in a season?
I guess he’s ‘cheap’ at 3 mil a year for the next three seasons, but my goodness
This rumor doesn’t make sense because of everything Army has said recently. He is literally quoted that he wants players who will fit around Thomas and Kyrou age. He said the prime age for forwards is 24-29 and he wants to get players that will fit as long as possible into the age range.
Idk why the Flyers would turn this down.
I bet a cap dump was included, Leddy or Scandella along with the picks.
Fuck off Frank. No they didn’t.
Good god. ZERO 20 goal seasons. Career high of 43 points with a previous career high of 32. His career points/82 is 31.9
That’s not worth a first let alone a 1st + a 2nd.
Scandella would be going the other way.
That seems like a big price, has to be fake, there is no way you turn that down.
No thanks.
Thank you gritty
