  1. Garbage game…..especially defensively, our Achilles heel….they need to fix it quickly!…Nuge needs to get going!.

  2. All in all it wasn't as bad as some would shout in the heat of the moment, but game 1 was to feel them out , the line jumbles i know Woody thinks its like Lego they fit anywhere, but that is not whats showing. Some line switch ups were awkward and showed player confusion and non conformity. Some lines and match ups work and some need work. now is not really the time to try untested match ups causing uncertainty in where and who was on each others lines. Sure it throws off Vegas, but clearly its showing it mixes up the forward pairings of the Oilers as well.

This is kinda on woody s much as the players tonight, you could see non familiar players unsure how new player on line skate, shoot, reacts, etc.. that's where the loose uncertain hesitation stemmed from .

Vegas did play hard and strong like they had to push hard to take on the oilers, which is to be expected. BUT Vegas CANT KEEP UP THAT pace , so as per last 2 years vs Vegas stats, historically factoring the Oilers should push 3 straight wins starting now if all things being equal based on past matching's and wins by the Oilers.

Game 1 is a testing ground and both teams played their asses off and both did well overall

  3. See that is one thing that's a bad thing, "DAYS OFF BETWEEN GAMES" always hurts the Oilers. Been like that for years, and each year the NHL league seems to put extra days between Oiler games suspiciously seemingly on purpose to take advantage of that Oiler weakness, other teams don't seem to get this stupid extra gap between games. Oilers play bet FULL OUT ON THE GAS CONSTANTLY AND CONTINUOUSLY.
I think the golden bears ( or Bakersfield for practice skill and match up jumbling line games )should provide opposition team play on practices between play off game stretches. No rest, rest it seems to make them sluggish and causes next game fumbling instead of continuous on the gas forward motioning.

  4. First regulation lost in maybe over 20 games? Looking forward to game 2. Let’s go oilers!!!

First game of the series. Oilers were poor defensively. Leon scored 4 goals and 4 other players had assists. The PP went 2 for 3. PK only stopped 2 of 4. Biggest base stat differences are hits (Oilers 46 vs VGK 27), Takeaways (Oilers 7, VGK 18) and Blocked Shots (Oilers 10, VGK 23). Huge differences on Takeaways and Blocked Shots are big indicators to me statistically of the results of this game. Too many missed assignments, too many men left alone out front, gaps weren't kept, it wasn't pretty and it wasn't all Skinner's fault (in fact most of it wasn't Skinner's fault, he wasn't lights out but he wasn't bad either). Connor isn't playing the way Connor can. Lateral movement and blowing by guys doesn't happen nearly as much if at all. He's still good and still plays (I mean he had two primary assists tonight) but he's not playing the way we all know he can. Janmark had to go off in his first game back after being boarded. No Ryan this game and, in my opinion, he was missed. Many players were "invisible" until they weren't and they weren't mostly in a bad way. Take care all.

  6. Bring Campbell in, only decent player was at Draisatl tried outscoring the terrible D and the turnovers. Skinner looked shaky
    out there.

  7. The Oilers did not bad job plus number #26 with 4 goals going in the history books and I stop watching NHL now on Sports Net! Because their coverage for the Oilers are less then 5 minutes and only want to talk about USA teams 👎🏾🤬💯 ! Thank you Patrick for your channel 👍🏾🇨🇦💯

  8. Getting other guys to provide some depth scoring and tighten things up in the defensive end seems like a more relevant place to look than expecting great goaltending to erase those issues.

Skinner was fine. Vegas gets by with good, not great goaltending, the Oilers will need to do the same if they want to win.

  9. Take a body , why r guys free in front of net ? Puck watching? Need to have situational awareness and take a man , block some shots , does nobody do that any more … I can see us dominating this series.Gooo oil
