For some reason, I feel Briere made the right move. Just a gut feeling.
BRIWEEKLY
No. No he is not.

Of course not. JFC

It only takes 1 other GM to think he’s worth two first rounders for it to be true.

He is at the trade deadline. Iāve seen worse players fetch 1, 2 and a 3rd. Or a first and a top prospect. Teams always seem to be willing to give up way more that time of the year.

Isnt the current rumor that briere turned it down because the blues wanted the flyers to retain salary on one of their anchoring contracts? If so I could totally see that killing this deal for us

Might still be more valuable draft day or at trade deadline. Let em work

I would be very happy if Laughton got moved for a first and a second. That’s a great package for him
I also would not be angry if he’s part of…maybe the medium term plan? He’s not a good enough player to push the team up in the standings but he’s exactly the kind of guy who would probably be good to have around, especially if the kids are going to get a longer look. He had to really work to reinvent his game to stick in the NHL, and you can see that in how he plays. That has to have some value on the ice and in the room
He’s got three years left on his deal. He’s 29. They don’t HAVE to move him right now, they’ll have chances down the road. He’s the right kind of vet to keep around. Again, if they end up pulling the trigger for a first and a second, that’s great. If he’s here until the deadline, or for another year, I’m good with that too. I don’t think he’s someone who’s going to dramatically fall of in value before his contract is up

I think so. I’ve seen less effective players garner more. You get 3 years of a middle 6 player who is highly effective on both sides of the ice, eats penalty minutes for breakfast, and has a friendly cap hit. Any team that has a core good enough to contend should look at him as the best forward depth piece on the trade market.
If Jeannot is worth a draft pick in each of the first five rounds, Murder Face is easily worth more than a bottom 1st rounder and a 2nd.
