  1. Hellebyuck to the Leafs….fill the roster out with AHL guys like Steeves, Holmberg, McCann if we have to!!! The Leafs haven't had a true #1 stud Goalie since Belfour's years here.

  2. leafs didn't lose because of their defence, they lost because the 40M$ of scoring guys could only get 2 goals per game on a legendarily bad goalie. they didn't look like they had energy all playoffs outside of tampa game 2. can a whole team be out of shape or exhausted at the same time? i don't know.

  3. Why no-trade for Nurse? Because he a buddy of McD or sport writers were told not to write about trading Nurse because Oilers made a huge mistake signing him to 8×9.25m contract.
Nurse has to go to make room for Broberg and free up cap space. He is a 3-4 D with an elite salary.

  4. So, where were the "size matters" pundits when Pittsburgh went back-to-back? It is incidental…It can be an important factor with the right group, with the right system. But, it is not a necessary ingredient. There would be a correlation with weight, though.

  5. Disappointed in Ray Vis a vis Jets. That 'old school attitude' of wait till 'whatever' is exactly what has already killed the attitudes and sense of belonging for any/all Jets players. If you think that a GM can just wait to deal with obvious issues .. then see consequences in clubhouses in Calgary, Winnipeg, Vancouver. That exact attitude is what causes situations like PLD, Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Laine, and how many other undisclosed requests to be traded. Today's young players are not going to put up with it for long; it becomes
    "Get me outta here"

  6. -Dubois to LA for Byfield
-Hellebuyck to NJ for 1st+Holtz maybe he takes less money but similar to Matthew's only 2-3yrs and he knows he's great and re ups when cap goes up.
    -Scheifele I see either Detroit/Carolina/Boston.
Stanley/heinola/other players could be added in trades
    Just not Lowry/Morrissey/and next core.
    Sanheim/Laughton be good in wpg
We have to move out at least 2 dmen pionk,Stanley, heinola,Chisholm,Demelo,Dillon,Schmidt.
And we dont nessasary need a goalie back but if say a Scheifele+Heinola to Boston for 1st+Swayman+carlo.
    Or Detroit Berggren+1st+2nd or cossa/husso.
But there is alot of goalies out there wanting a chance andersen,Raanta,Halak,Blackwood, jarry, brossoit, quick,Reimer,Hill, nedeljkovic,Jones, korpisalo, subban, greiss, fucale or we could take a bad goalie contract if sweetner was added.

  7. That is the mistake the Panthers made with the Bobrovsky contract. Granted, it was a different GM (THANKS, Dale Tallon) but then Bill Zito goes ahead and signs Spencer Knight to that 3 million dollar extension. If I were him, I would SERIOUSLY consider trying to move Bob to a team that needs a goalie. Maybe the Panthers retain some salary on that, and can get a nice top pairing-middle pairing D-man or forward depth piece in return. They would also need to convince Bob that that is what would be best for him, as he has a NTC (which I think moves to a limited NTC after this coming season). I hear that Bill Zito has been talk to Ken Holland. Maybe the Oilers look at trying to get a guy like Bobrovsky to help them in net.

  8. Why is there any interest in O'Rielly? He was minus 24 when the Leafs traded for him, and wasn't much better as a Leaf. He's no longer a needle mover, and has clearly lost a step.
