Marek says I’m wondering more than any person says anything
I think the Tkachuk angle is really fueled by the hype of Matthew’s playoffs. It could just be me, but I had never heard Leonard compared to the Tkachuks until Matthew started scoring OT winners left and right. Hughes himself said to not base yourself too much on a particular playoff, because the team that wins and the style they play changes from year to year
Leonard’s a better skater than both Tkachuks
I’m no expert, but I’m excited about potentially drafting this guy.
This is entirely based on the off-hand comment by Hughes that Leonard plays a similar style to the Tkachuks, I wouldn’t put too much importance on the statement. They are reading way too much into it.
Personally, I can’t see the Habs taking Leonard at five, although if they did, I wouldn’t be mad about it.
Well he’s 6th on McKenzie’s list so it’s not much higher than expected.
I’m ignorant. The guy is listed at 5’11 when the Tkachuks are listed at 6’2 and 6’4. They’re big body boys. How does a guy who’s 5’11 have the same style as them? Genuinely asking.
The conspiracy theorist in me hopes this is the Hughes camp feeding misinformation to the media to try and influence a team 1-4 to reach, therefore leaving Will Smith for the taking.
I know it’s not true. But a fan can dream.
I wonder if management teams try to imagine draft picks are existing NHLers and then draft them because of it. I wonder.
I wonder.
OMG if we don’t take Michkov if he’s available at 5 we’re gonna hate ourselves in two years.
