Habs Sign Monahan, Montreal Still #1 Choice for Dubois
Montreal Canadiens sign Sean Monahan to one year deal, Pierre-Luc Dubois hanging with Cole Caufield and will Dubois actually become a Montreal Canadien.
Great video! Honestly I hope Monahan does so good he can stay. I think we should keep Jake Evans. He is a really good 4th liner and he is really good on the PK. Dvorak before Evans for me.
Another great move by Hughes. To be honest i would love to get Monahan for more years, but we all know it's a move to Pimp the dude and trade him. Expect Monahan back with Suzuki and Caufield.
I love Monahan, if he plays well in sure the hands will trade him for a very good return. I'm sure Monahan and Dvorak and Edmondson are likely going to be traded this year. I think Anderson will likely go as well
If a trade is made then maybe we can unload some salary in the deal but if PLD gets signed next year then habs will have to unload some salary elsewhere not convinced about PLD maybe Drouin 2.0 or maybe a home run 🤔
For me the PLD scenario comes down to this.. the only reason a player like this is on the habs radar at this point in the rebuild is because he has expressed considerable interest in coming to Montreal, and as such the general consensus is that the Canadiens would be able to get him without having to give up a drastic return. If that is still the case I’m happy to get him, however now that the seed has been planted it would be a mistake to chase him, give up to many assets and to much money to make it happen.
So we get an injury prone player he plays 25 games and gets injured …sad.Well no problem let's sign this guy not like we don't have enough injuries we need this to keep th eteam at a very high injury total so we can use that as an excuse for losing. Sean Monahan was given a great player to play with lots of ice time but was only pretty much a 60 point player and that is NOT very good not by ANY teams standards. Most of his seasons are minus…minus…minus.. He has had a few seasons where the shots are 2 per game which is an absolute must unless you play like Mike keane and shut down the opposition.
I see this turning into another kirby Dach he will get good ice time maybe get 40-45 points and people will be putting on the party hats.
High expectations people we need to have MUCH higher expectations from our top ice time players or we will NEVER win another Stanley Cup.I would rather play an entire team of rookies these vets are not going to help us win any cups they are just here passing time.

Anybody else think Montreal should go all out and make a trade where they pay a lot but they also get rid of a contract like gallagher? Make a monster trade ? Just for example , what if Montréal traded , floridas 1st, Calgary 1st , Roy, montreal 2nd in 2023 gallagher , Allen and whatever else for Dubois and hellebuyck? Just pay whatever as long as it’s not the 5th overall .even if the habs added to that trade it would be a small price to pay to get rid of gallagher and the jets would get decent picks , plus Roy is a great prospect.
I don't think Dubois will come to MTL and CH has never really been interested in him. He uses the media to create a hype but in the end Dubois will find himself elsewhere!

I am wondering if you have any thoughts regarding who the Habs could have on their radar for the round 1, 31st overall pick, and their later picks, barring any trades? As I mentioned on one of your postings, the Habs have 11 draft picks overall, and 9 of them are after the first round, with 3 fourth rounders, and 2 fifth rounders, highlighting that. That’s a lot of picks in the first 5 rounds alone. Have you heard of, or have any thoughts as to any particular player(s) that they may take, or that you would like to see them take, in those spots? It would be hilarious if King's trade for PLD and give up big assets for him and he ends up going to FA next summer.

There's no chance PLD signs a 1 yr deal. LA is offering a ransom so it would have to be 7 yrs

Habs dont need to rush the rebuild. Just my opinion but keep pld away from habs. Monahan signing, job well done kent.
