  1. every time i hear the canucks wanting to trade up for this draft i throw up into my mouth. winning all those meaningless games…riding the star players 28-29 minutes a game. what a great time to bring in ahl players and give them nhl experience. evaluate them. some real dumbass decision making by the coach and management.

  2. Unless the Canucks are able to hit a homerun like drafting EP40 or Quinn Hughes, any draft pick will be a 3-5+ years process before they become impact players. In 5 years time, Pettersson will be nearing 30, JT Miller will be 35 and Demko will be 32. Will the Canucks be more competitive then? I doubt it, unless guys like Podkolzin, Hoglander, Lekkerimaki, Raty and Klimovich are impact or contributing players.
Does it make Elias want to re-sign? Would Hughes wish to extend next contract?

Vegas has proven that you don't have to build through the draft, that you can trade for what you need. If cash is king, draft picks are the closest thing to true currency in the NHL. The Canucks should be stocking more of them. Trade down for more picks, trade prospects that aren't working for near comparable, etc.

  3. Instead of saying when they can get the russians over quickly.. what is the risk of russia becoming a hermit state.. or things regarding the war take a turn for the worse.. I certainly worked in a business where geopolitical risk is assessed before making any informed business decisions.. even if its say hey. 5% chance… we hear zippo regarding these discussions.. Atleast fans can understand.. beyond the hey theres "risk".. or Hey mitchkov didn't do his millitary conscrption.. etc.. etc.. we asses this as a 20% risk. he can't leave Russia until he's 25 for example.. so much suggestion of risk.. but lack of discussion of the actual risks..

  4. No Thanks to Jim (Flipping) Benning who did not know his brains from a hole in the wall.

  5. Yes. The team had a chance to draft higher and trying to win the last dozen games really put the Canucks in a pickle in drafting at a higher spot. Should have taken a page and learn how to draft 1st by looking at Chicago’s playbook.

  6. You two morons should not even bring up the ‘cause-based’ nights. Dont mix politics with sports. Especially when you are as immersed in sports as you two.

  7. Can one buy out a player and resign him for a cheaper contract???
