  1. The modern thing where they build up everything around it I think started with Gillette Stadium? That’s the first one I can remember having stuff around it

  2. Hamilton will never get an arena, the people there all root for Toronto and Bettman will never move a team or expand more in Canada

  3. Portland has a pretty devoted following of the Winterhawks, who play in the Weatern Hockey League. I think an NHL team would do good here. They would likely play at the old Veterans Memorial Coliseum or the Moda Center. The only thing I think that would have to be done is a renovation to one of those arenas. I think Moda would be more likely to host an NHL team but they could build a new NHL arena on the same spot as the Vet since you already have that space. Idk just a theory. Would also make the travel for Seattle easier and a nice PNW hockey rivalry as well

  4. Houston would be the most logical choice, they have a stadium already and have the population. A rivalry with Dallas would be intense, Dallas doesn't have a heated rival like most teams do. Putting a team in Houston could change all that. I hope they move to Houston and bring the Aeros back.

  5. I am an avid hockey fan, but not able to see the games (Due to price and where they currenty play on the Campus of ASU. 5k stadium, what a joke). The metro Phoenix area has given up on the team, and the local sport economy here can not support 4 "Major" franchises (Considering Phoenix Rising soccer out draws the Yotes all the time). They will play one more year here and then relocate, possibly to Salt Lake or Kansas CIty!

  6. The islanders tried to get a tax funded arena they lost the vote overwhelmingly The team moved to Brooklyn and eventually came back to Long Island and built a new privately funded arena. It didn’t cost the tax payers a dime

  7. The coyote wants to stay in Arizona, the only option is to move to another city like Phoenix or Tucson, it would be a good idea💡if the owners decide

  8. Although Hamilton or Quebec City are worthy candidates, I think the preferred option would be to choose a city in the west or central. Otherwise you would need to reshuffle some teams in the conferences again. I do not believe either Columbus or Detroit are willing to go back to the Western Conference.

  9. Austin, Texas is a dumb idea. The crime is growing just as rapidly as the population there. Hamilton would be silly, too, as they lost an AHL team a few years back.

  10. When you are speaking about these cities, you have to speak in terms of their entire metro population and not just city proper population. Like you mentioned Houston having 2.2 million people, but it's the entire metro population of 6.8 million that makes up the core of it market. They always use market size population and not just city proper population, that's the more important figure in this.

  11. Atlanta wouldn't make sense: they got an NHL franchise on two separate occasions [the Flames (moved to Calgary) and the Thrashers (moved to become the second iteration of the Winnipeg Jets)]… Quebec City would love a second version of the Nordiques, at currently existing NHL-worthy Vidéotron Centre, which seats 18,259. Plus, that would bring back the Battle of Quebec (with Montreal)… Also, Hamilton's FirstOntario Centre holds 19,000…

  12. Anywhere but Tempe, these hicks don’t get it! Apartments, Strip Center, ASU but NO NHL?
Selfish, greedy, and backward! 💰🤠💰Take the Cardinals with ya!

  13. Hey bro
Would love to see a power ranking of your favorite NHL goal horns from either the last decade or historically.

  14. 5:02 “Houston is the most populous city in North America without an NHL team.”
Mexico City: I’m I a joke to you?

  15. Kansas City has an arena! T-Mobile Center (former Sprint Center) opened in 2007, seats 17,544 for hockey! Kansas City has been trying attract an NBA or NHL franchise. I get the market size isn’t big, however NHL would be only winter sport played there, I’ll agree I don’t think they could be a 4 sport city. I’m a Detroit sports fan, however I like see some of the smaller, underdog cities have a team. Like when the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg I was happy see that. I don’t want see Houston get a team, Atlanta has had 2 cracks at the NHL, no way.

  16. Indianapolis, Indiana has metro population of 2,111,040 the Urban density of 2,352.6/square miles (908.4/km) and the Urban population of 1,699,881 for an current NHL team to relocate to in the Central Division there have an arena called the Gainbridge Fieldhouse which has a seating capacity of 11,651 for an current NHL team where the Coyotes would be known as the Indianapolis Coyotes or Indianapolis Racers

  17. The Hamilton Bulldogs are "temporarily" playing in Brantford, Ontario while the arena in Hamilton is being renovated. Meanwhile, their Canadian Elite Basketball League has permanently moved to Brampton, Ontario due to the renos. The only team currently playing at the arena is the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League.

  18. 2 billion in tax dollars so that the same taxpayer can visit the project and pay through the nose? No way.

  19. I dont see any major sports league moving to Austin. Way to close to Dallas and they already have all 4 sports there. Thise teams won't allow it first off.

  20. Might as well send them to Canada so they can have another team that doesn’t win.

  21. The owners have publicly stated they're not leaving Arizona. Not sure where you're getting your info homeslice.
