I'll tell you what though, some of the Caps (I can't remember who) were boarding the Jets pretty hard (nothing illegal, just trying to gain a physical edge) in the two shifts previous to this one. Then on this particular shift, the Caps were still dictating the play, and finally Stuart had enough, I kept asking myself when are the Jets going to respond to this physical play? Well, Stuart answered.
Stuart hits him in the face with the back of both of his gloves, and he never leaves his feet… It's not even a cross check. The sound of the boards was first, Johansson's helmet flying off his head and hitting the boards, then Stuarts stick hitting the glass.
Of course the refs aren't going to call that. They haven't called crap on the Caps opponents the past few games. Sure, odds are the Caps PP would probably blow it but we're in a playoff race and barely clinging to the 8th seed. Losing even 1 chance to go on the PP could make a difference in the Caps making or missing the playoffs.
@batigol47 My point was he wasn't going to get suspended…and guess what…I was right. He got fined $2,500. 🙂
OV was pretty cool about the crowd taunting him in the post game interview. I like OV. I just don't like the Caps. 😀 It's ironic that the Jets are in my least favorite division.
Caps will retaliate for the hit. They've already said as much after the game. Next game should be a really really physical game. I'm pretty positive that someone's getting injured.
@Tapewormz I think it's more likely Hendricks will run into Stuart's fist with his face and the Caps will call it day. That's about all that happened when the Caps vowed revenge against Bourque.
@DamagedJustice420 Everything you said is wrong. He didn't get suspend, he's not a pussy, and in terms of defencemen most hockey fans can only name about a dozen defencemen. Less if they're american hockey fans. 😛 *cheap shot…oooh…gonna suspend me?*

Bourque blatant cheap shot on Backstrom a month and after already being suspended and he gets an apology with his light susp. Go to hell Shanny.
So. Tyler myers does a less dirty hit with less force and more near the touching of the puck, and this guy does a dirtier hit from behind well after he touched the puck, injures the guy. And Myers gets 3 games and this guy gets a fine. Umm,,
