Mavs need to draft Derrick Lively. Sign Woods. We can't keep giving up assets for absolutely nothing.
Iād trade 2027 and this years pick for capela and collins and number 15. Draft a wing , resign kyrie, sogn Dillon brooks, get someone like josh Richardson , get torey Craig and Okogie(for defense and cheap) and keep javale for the bench. Get someone back for wood in a sign and trade. Weāre good for bench scoring cuz josh green and Hardy would easily have 25+ combined every night. And be on the lookout for aj lawson thatās another piece
Mavs need depth, both youth and veteran. Why not Bertans, Javale, and 10 to Charlotte for Terry Rozier (3rd guard/veteran), Mark Williams (young starting Center), and picks 27 & 39? Who says no?

Mavs need an entirely new roster outside of Luka, Kyrie ( if he stays ) and Hardy. None of these moves will even move the needle in the slightest. Mavs need to get Ayton and use THJ, Maxi, Green, Bullock, Bertans, McGee any of those guys to make that Ayton trade happen. Canāt fix the issues on this roster by trading away one piece with the 10th pick. Livley is not a mobile defender heās extremely slow and will not fix the Mavs issue and heās extremely under weight heās like 210-220 at the most. Heās going to get abused in the NBA. If you are in the mindset of a rookie being the fix they need, you mine as well just let Kyrie walk and trade Luka. Heās not waiting 2+ years for a rookie to start at center or the wing while not having competent starters to help him win now. If anything the pick should be used and viewed as a bench guy instead of trying to make him be a starter right away. If THJ is gone in that Ayton deal and Hendrix is gone by 10 Iām taking Gradey Dick he will make immediate impact as a shooter off the bench for the Mavs and would have no issue playing along side a Luka or Kyrie or Ayton. If Mavs dump all those contracts sign Kyrie to $40m a year and trade for Ayton and keep Hardy they will have the 10th pick, $13m in cap space, the MLEās, vet mins and min contracts to get 2 starting wings and fill a bench out. Wings just need to shoot corner 3ās and play defense at a high level and 2 guys like Thybulle and Jalen McDaneils are FAās and wonāt be expensive. Now you have 2 elite perimeter defenders along with a very capable defensive center who can score and rebound and quick enough to guard perimeter guys in Ayton.

Lawson deserved a minimum 1 year contract, because he trained for almost 1 year with the Mavs team, so he is already ready to come off the bench, which he proved in a few games. It needs to be encouraged a bit and it will erupt as 3D.
Any 10th pick player available will be worse than 2 late(15-30)players,like Olivier Maxence Prosper/Jordan Hawkins/Brandin Podziemski/Kris Murray/Jett Howard/Trayce Jackson Davis/Kobe Brown(best underated draft sniper, 7' wingspan), etc…Mavs need more young players and next year they will have no draft pick…

Mavs always try to go for the homerun. Just take Lively. Go for the single and build up from there.
I would trade the number 10 pick if the Mavericks are looking for a big man. If they can get a top pick in 2024 then they can draft Aday Mara a 7-3 big man that's ready to start right now plays both sides of the ball, a shot blocker, playmaker, can score at will, can switch 1-5 on defense & has great vision on offense.
Josh Green, Jaden Hardy, Davis Bertans, Tim Hardaway Jr., 2023 (pick 10), for LeBron James.
Christian Wood, Maxi Kleber, and 2027 1st for Clint Capela and John Collins.
