Capitals’ Kuznetsov scores in OT to eliminate Penguins

    Pittsburgh looked tired and banged up. Capitals dominated the neutral zone, and the Penguins just couldn't get anything going. As soon as a Penguin touched the puck, there was a Capital right on him and forced a turnover; this is a sign of a very tired team. Combine that with great play from Holtby, Penguins were sure to lose. BTW, I might be wrong, but were there no penalties called the entire game? I'm not sure if Ovechkin could have bounced back emotionally/mentally if they lost this series; his sigh of relief after they won said everything. If the Capitals make it all the way, I predict Holtby playoff MVP. Penguins need to seriously consider trading Letang; he's become a serious liability, and they could use the cap space.

    Kinda reminds of the assist Gretzky had on Yzerman's double-OT game 7 goal.

    I am a rookie to hockey so bear with me, but I thought the lights indicating a goal were automatic. When he shot it, the goalie laid down and the lights didn’t go on, I figured he saved it. Why was there such a delay? I had the delayed cheer much like the rest of the Caps fans.

    Now we just need to see ovechkin score the Stanley cup winning goal and the prophecy will be fulfilled lol

    coincidentally last time Pens won back to back cups 91-92, they were eliminated following year 93 in ot by islanders also on home ice on turnover play.

    How do you get flyer fans to root for the caps? Have them beat the pens. This goal will live forever. Not a flyer fan, but I noticed that a lot of them live this goal as much as caps fans do.

    Letang-to-Crosby on maybe the most important play in Capitals history.

    Feels so good.

    Wouldn't trade my Stanley Cup champions for that black and yellow trash.

    God, I was so relieved that there was going to be a new Cup champ that year. Thank god Kuznetsov scored that goal.

    2005 to 2009: Ovi has the upper hand in their rivalry but its close

    2009: Ovi gets stopped by Fleury in a breakaway in game 7 vs Pittsburgh and at that moment Crosby takes over, wins the series and win the cup

    2009-2018 Crosby dominates points wise but Ovi scores more goals. In the yoffs, Sid gets 3 cups and the hockey world start doubting Ovi.

    2018: Sid loses the puck to Ovi in game 6 against Washington, Caps win the game, the series and the cup

    2018-now: Ovi is back on top again
