[Foley] Here’s what I am hearing… #stlblues – Sanheim, Hayes will be Blues – Kyrou is not involved – One of Krug/Faulk will go – A late-First (I believe #25) will go to Philly – There’s cap dump involved – Parayko/Leddy not involved but are in other trade talks

Losing Faulk would be less than ideal IMO

If Faulk is the guy who is moved I am gonna lose my mind. Do nothing if it means your only chance to clear up space is moving your best d man. How does that make the team any better?

I wouldn’t complain about that at all. Tbh I don’t think sanheim is a bad player and a change of scenery might vamp up his game to a new level. He’s still young too at 27 and Hayes sits at the front of the net for kyrou to pot goals all season long. But krug going is necessary for a bunch of reasons so hopefully Briere gets him flipped to another team.

    29 OA, 2024 first (conditional top 10), 2024 3rd, Krug, Scandella – Sanheim, Laughton, Hayes at 50%.

  5. I know analytics aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but Faulk had a dismal year…like, bottom 20 per jfresh, for instance.

I don’t see how you can be particularly attached to any of them.. particularly the “big 3.”

Matching cap hits, way too many years, underwhelming performance, over 30…

The D is a mess, and the sooner they can be rid of most of them, the better.

Any one of them would be fine as the clear-cut second pair leader in a team with a genuine top pairing, but as a group they don’t work and are only getting older.

The catch, of course, is that they’ve been pretty bad at drafting and developing defensive talent, so there aren’t obvious replacements in the system.

But when you’re getting below-replacement-level performance, you can plug in cheap, replacement level talent and get the same (bad) results.

Hayes and O’Reilly just 1 year difference, and cap hit would be nearly the same. Am I crazy or just go resign ROR

Hayes is yuck. He is very bad defensively and he is old and doesn’t skate well. Plus he doesn’t really drive any offense. I know we saw bad defense from our forwards but be prepared for me coming from this guy

Faulk and Leddy need to stay. Am I the only one on this? These 2 brought it every game they played and I feel the blues should keep them at least another year or 2.
