You will only have Barrie for one year, this leafs won't be able to afford his payday next year. And, he has a lot of giveaways. He is offensively talented, but has always been a defensive liability here in Colorado. Good luck!

Great trade even if we have Barrie for one year. Better defensively than last year.
Kadri is a pest you want as a teammate but he's also an idiot(too hot headed) that ended up costing the Leafs. We will see how it goes.
Speaking as an Avalanche fan here. We are loaded on the d line with stud young high draft picks all over the place so Barrie with his expiring contract was not gonna be resigned. But I don't think we got enough compensation for one of the absolute best offensive defenseman in the league. He is great with the pass to start a rush and knows when to jump into the play as well. Kadri as a good 2nd 3rd line centerman is what we need and love that he's under contract for 3 more years at a reasonable price. I just feel as good as Barrie is we should of got a 1st Rd pick from Toronto somewhere. For Toronto I feel this move is very short sighted. Barrie is a UFA next year and with Marner wanting the moon and the cap problems the Leafs have with the Tavares contract and others they will probably lose him for nothing next year. He's a great pickup but just seems to be like plugging a hole on a sinking ship with all the cap problems Toronto has and will have.

Always liked Barrie and we need defense so loving this trade, kadri hasn’t been that great the last two years and I’ve never really thought he was as good as people think. Kerfoot will take browns spot so that’s another bonus
