How is he NOT an NHL All-Star?

During tonights Buffalo Sabres vs New York Islanders game, we saw one of the most outrageous Hail Mary goals I have ever seen as Dahlin links up with Cozens in overtime and left me wondering, how is Rasmus Dahlin NOT and NHL All-Star this year? That’s just crazy to me but, this was a great game on Ryan Miller night as the Sabres honoured the long time net minder Miller as well, hanging his number in the rafters. One of the greats of that generation, I remember him making some unreal saves during his time. I cover the game and all else from this one in todays NHL hockey highlights recap!

  1. The All Star format is a joke….no fuckin way the Blue Jackets or MTL deserve an all star this year over Hampus Lindholm of the bruins

  2. 1. congrats to Miller! Canucks fan. Miller is my favorite goalie every because he stood up for Troy Stetcher V Matt Martin in a fight. Came charging in. Instant, permanent favorite.
    2. that WAS a great OT goal.
    3. someone on Sabres asked for #89? he shouldn't have.

  3. Great goal . Just watched the Leafs pull these stretch pass goals against the Isles goalie last night . Maybe the goalie coach needs to address this

  4. They won another one last night with both NYI and FLA losing in regulation for the 9th spot in the East, and they are finally looking like they could make it to postseason for once. Both my teams are in the gutter this season, so if Buffalo fans are ok with that, I'd be more than happy to jump on the bandwagon

  5. I understand the argument for Dahlin, I do. But are Sabres fans really going to try and tell me he deserved it more than Thompson? Or that Matthews, Pastrnak, and Vasi shouldn’t have been the fan vote options? He’s having an excellent year, but unfortunately so is Taj, and the amount of talent in the Atlantic division is absolutely absurd.

  6. remember miller from his time at michigan state where he was a ncaa legend. I remember stitting right behind the net watching him play at the JLA

  7. i wouldnt say ryan was underrated. he was the best goalie in the world for at least 2 years straight and everyone knew it.

  8. This is a pretty simple answer, Tage Thompson. lol, id say most nhl teams have a few players that could be considered, but tage is so ahead in point production its a no brainer, especially after going under the radar for years.

  9. That OT goal was insane. Hell, the saucer to Olofsson before OT was pretty sweet as well. It's amazing how quickly they can take the puck out of the air with a stick, control it, and then fire in a split second.

  10. In order to volunteer for 10+ hours a week, you need to be able to afford it.

This is the Universal Basic Income. Let’s give volunteers a guaranteed minimum income of $1,500ish USD/month.

So they can make our communities better.

    Pooh

  11. How is he not an all star? First, remember that every team gets at least one all star. Then, notice that you are in the same division with the Bruins, Leafs, and Lightning, all of whom are having better seasons than you are and have multiple players who are having great years. That means that the Sabres are only going to get one player in the all star game. So are you complaining that Dahlin should have gotten in instead of Tage Thompson? Because if so, I can respect that. Defensemen clearly aren't getting enough love in the all star game, especially in the Atlantic division. As a Bruins fan, I could make the argument for either Lindholm or McAvoy over Pasternak, even though both have worse offensive stats than Dahlin and Pasternak is having a fantastic year, with better offensive stats than Tage Thompson. (Ullmark, on the other hand, is a no-brainer.) But otherwise, Dahlin is just one of many deserving players who won't be there because of the selection rules.

  12. I should’ve known it would be a Sabres player I wish I didn’t click…… we almost ruined the Sabres night and ofc when we have our bobble head nights those get ruined by a loss. We just suck ever since we entered UBS arena. Ever since the last game in the Coliseum our team hasn’t changed by much. So I don’t get how we even suck. It shouldn’t be happening. We’re a good team and we’re not playing like it. We are gonna finish with a losing record if we don’t start playing better, which I’ve only been going to games for about maybe 4 years or 3. But Covid ruined our first season in UBS and now we have no issues, it’s just we’re not playing as good as we used to be. In one of the recent home games we went up 3-0 and by the end of regulation the caps tied the game at 3. We almost went to a SO, but I believe Oshie scored with like 30 seconds left and we lost that game 4-3. I don’t understand how we just suck ever since we came into UBS Arena. We shouldn’t be doing this bad and we should be doing so much better, but the year we play good hopefully it will be a fun playoff run! I’m ok with losing in the semifinals like we used too. We have had so many memories it’s just we can’t make anymore. I’m just mentally sad about the islanders. I know u can tell I’m a fan of the team but all I want is a successful islanders team. We’ve lost Jordan Eberle and Andrew Ladd to the Kraken and Coyotes. They were both pretty good, maybe we need them. In the past we have also lost Kyle Okposo yo the Sabres and John Tavares to the Maple Leafs. Life can’t always go the way u want it too. Grow up JT u should’ve chosen the islanders over a team u like. Aaron Judge chose the Yankees over his favorite team (San Francisco Giants). But as I said I am a mentally sad islanders fan. I just hope we get better and have a better future. Good luck to other current failing teams.

  13. A friend of mine is 100% correct on this. The all star weekend should have different players for the skills competition and the all star game. There are faster skaters, harder slapshot's of players who are not considered all star's. The POS Bettman, which is the worst I can call him here just keeps ruining the league. He was so butthurt about John Scott winning the fan vote to the all star game. That was one of the best all star weekends ever. He keeps allowing more and more advertisements like these European/Russian leagues. He's long overdue to be gone / out of the nhl existence.

  14. This pass is damned near as impressive as Karlsson’s… I give him the nod as I believe his pass was longer, plus Erik had that killer interview where he outlined the Sens plan for winning that night’s game to a reporter: “score more goals than them”. 😂
