  1. Pasta would have gotten no less than 12AAV on the open market. This is a discount

  2. Leafs media is hilarious, no wonder their fanbase is equally as ridiculous.

  3. Pastas contract was a discount. He could have got more if he went to free agency. So you're wrong. And they aren't going to fall off a cliff after this year. They have many good players.

  4. Without Bergeron and Krejci, the Bruins still have a great team. I hope Bergeron doesn't retire, though…unless he's taking Edwards' spot in the booth with Brick.

  5. you say that until the cap goes up and up (an argument you leafs fans make endlessly) and it is a deal.

  6. ….and overpaying players like Marner, Nostrils, Pyjama Boy, Reilly and Nylander has been alive and well in Toronto for a few years now, then looking thru the discount bin for goaltenders and defencemen.

  7. Anyone who thinks that B's will fall off a cliff next year already is not, in my world, a person who sees what B's have on the team.

With the challenge that was in the B's at the beginning of the season, they are proving all the skeptics wrong, they are having one of their best seasons this year.

As a RW fan, I am happy that Bert ends up in the B's of all the imagined teams that could be interested in him. He will fit into that team and he gives the B's even more depth in their lines. In addition, Bert does not have to be a leader in the team and can focus only playing his own game in 3rd lines and as a bonus the audience gets to see his big heart and wonderful smile during the time that the season has left here.

What happens with Bert next year is interesting, because I personally think that Bert is mostly used as a retal this year, in order to possibly stay in B's as a club who never overpay for players. Time will tell what it will be, however, as a RW fan, I am satisfied with the whole deal as it is balanced and not overpaid by any party as it´s stands here.

I wish Bert/the family and B's the best of luck in the future and look forward to the playoffs and it looks like we fans can see a lot of exciting rounds this year.

  8. If Pasta had wanted he could have held out until free agency and would have made more money than he got. Dude wants to be in Boston.

  9. Bruins still beat the Leafs next year in the playoffs. Sorry salty marek…

  10. LOL if Orlov re-signs the B's could go into a rebuild with one of the best defences and goalie tandems in the league. The young forwards that come in will have a team around them that will allow them to make rookie mistakes and not get benched every time they do.

  11. The Bruins likely will fall off a bit next season but I think they'll still be a good team. Its really hard to repeat historic seasons like the one they're having now.
