  1. incredible how the ref is literally two feet away, saw his helmet shake from the impact of the crosscheck and didnt call anything

  2. he's crosschecked other players high before too all balances out in the end got Pinto on the back of the neck in 1 of Pintos 1st games last season I believe

  3. Lmao don’t post this dumb clickbait title shit again. Yes this should have been a two minute crosscheckint penalty but Larkin’s crosscheck was definitley worth 5 and a game, it was in the mouth and he drew blood. Nice try starting a narritive tho, there’s levels to the severity of penalties.

  4. both players at fault, dont turn into a macktruck withouttime to stop, Dylan "Prius" Larkin. Thought he was being cute and then forgot theres other players to dodge..

  5. You can legitimately make a compilation of Larkin getting cross checked in the head. Jamie Benn and Esa Lindell are two more I can think of off the top of my head. Larkin also frequently gets hit in the face with high sticks, many of which aren’t called either. The cherry on top is the 2 sucker punches Larkin received last year with no suspension for them, but unsurprisingly Larkin got one.

  6. First off, that wasn’t even hard. It was a frikkin push. Second, it was at his BACK. TJ’s was directly in the face and it drew blood (that counts for a lot of the penalty) Finally, rules have changed in the NHL. Idk when that game was, but it looks older in my opinion.
Yes, it’s inexcusable, but it drew no blood. People are getting a little too riled about this-
These are just my opinions, though. I don’t wanna offend anyone, but compared to the hit on Oshie, there is differences.

  7. The only consistency in the NHL is the terrible inconsistency of the officials and the mis-named Player Safety department. Just a joke.

  8. Sucks that there's literally two guys who don't have a full say on calling penalties. Else he might've done something. And DOPS does nothing to fix what should be a major and game misconduct.

  9. EXCELLENT point! If I ever see jamie(how.gay) benn on the street I will sever his head with a x-check!
    BTW, jonahdonohue52 is a BIG.DOPE!

  10. Huberdeau will most likely get fined $5,000 from the DoPS tomorrow for that cross check to Larkin.

  11. Was that as hard as the one he hit oshie with? Yes it was a crosscheck to the head but I think it's more a case of how the player taking the check reacts as oppose to the actual cross-check these days. It's gonna get to a point where more people are embellishing their contacts (not saying oshie did before anyone suggests that.)

  12. Lol. 41 year Detroit fan and he turned into it.

Look ..for all you young fans I suggest watching a real hockey game 15 years ago and that won't even break the ice… Larkin misconduct should of been 4 cause he drew blood and wasn't intentional ..but you have to have control of your stick. Includes the shaft. 25 years ago that was a normal play and you got up and played without a second glance from one ref! Game is soft anymore and only getting softer

  13. A missed call for sure.

But I wouldn't expect Huberdeau to be ejected for this one.

A big thing lots of people missed in the Larkin/Ejected video: A ref can only call a cross check as a single minor or a major. There is no double minor option. And when a major cross check is called, then a game misconduct MUST accompany it. So the refs called Larkin's penalty exactly correct.

But in Huberdeau's case, I would say this only qualifies as a minor cross check. Here are the major differences for me:

    1. Huberdeau's stick is actually in a position where he can easily make a play on the puck. It's very much vertical. Larkin on Oshie on the other hand, he had his stick completely parallel to the ice. There's no way his stick was in a position to play the puck.

    2. Related to the above, Huberdeau isn't really going in for a cross check per se. He's turning and bracing himself for contact. There might be some extension of his arms towards Larkin, but its subtle. It's more like a brace for contact as mentioned. When Larkin got Oshie, it was much different. Larkin's hands are clearly moving forward in a very deliberate cross check motion.

If Huberdeau's stick makes contact with Larkin anywhere else, we probably don't call his a penalty at all.
If Larkin's stick makes contact with Oshie anywhere else, that would still look a whole lot like text book cross checking.

So as I said at the top: This should have been a minor cross check, not a major like Larkin's though.

I'm not really a Wings or Panthers fan or hater. If anything, I would like to see both of these teams make the playoffs, but I won't be overly heartbroken if both miss either. (And actually, if anything else, I'd probably prefer the Capitals to miss the playoffs.)

  14. Besides the no call, Ozzy has been a good backup for Mickey and I’m happy to know the color commentator job is in good hands once Mickey retires.

  15. Same as Martinook on Saturday slewfooted by mantha crosschecked in the neck and sucker punched no fine. Parros needs to go

  16. The wild part is this happens literally, and I mean literally, right in front of the ref. Like they could reach their sticks out and poke the ref and he is staring right at them the entire sequence.

  17. Ill keep saying it.

REFS NEED TO BE PUNISHED FOR MISTAKES WHILE REFFING JUST LIKE PLAYERS GET PENALTIES FOR MISTAKES WHILE PLAYING. SIMPLE BOOMERS, FIX IT.
