Obviously there is a great fear that he is pretty much going to Seattle however their is other UFA goalies who can replace Allen if Seattle snags him, bernier, raanta, drediger, etc there is plenty out there that you can pay probably 3 million for any of them, if not then side deal but not if it’s a significant price point
Obviously they can't protect him. Teams can't protect 2 goalies.
A 1b backup goalie is a must! Carey has shown in the last two years he can't carry the load even in a 56 game season! Bergevin has his work cut out for him, Weber gone, Allen Gone, Well we still have Drouin! Lets see what were built for next year.
The only way they could protect Jake Allen would be to get Carey Price to waive his No Movement Clause and take a gamble that Seattle wont take him/his contract when he is exposed. Highly unlikely, albeit possible.
Bishop is available, no worries
You have to offer them a guy like Drouin and as many picks as possible.
Even then, I don't see how Seattle doesn't want Allen.
NO.
We have no goalies who must step up.
Hell yea they should
It's come down to Price being able to only play maybe 20-30 games a season at best before going into regular season Price. So that leaves Allen to play the bulk of the games next year. MB will have to convince Price to waive his no movement clause. Seattle knows Price is on the downside and wouldn't want to hang his salary around the neck of the team. They also know Drouin is probably washed up as a player in the NHL so why would they take him. Montreal will have to give up someone of value who they may work a deal with Seattle to get back for someone from the AHL and a draft pick or two.
Bishop and Lehner or Fleury will be available, maybe we get lucky and they dont steal allen
Primeau needs a chance soon. Best case is he gets called up for an injury and is lights out and then we trade away Allen. I agree that Primeau needs more time in the AHL but i doubt more then 1 more year.
No.
unlikely kraken will take Price's huge contract so dont mind Price waiving his No trade move
Lots of fair weather fans showing their lack of knowledge. Move on haters, move on.
Well, we protected him!
