I’m hoping the Flyers get Leonard or Smith at 7, assuming that Michkov doesn’t fall
I don’t know why they don’t try to get Arizonas pick at 6 and get Leonard and Smith. I can’t imagine it would be awful to get to 6
If I'm the Habs I still draft Michkov at 5 and fleece the Capitals for #8, their 2nd this year, second next year, and probably a couple other mid to low picks. Or maybe even another decent pick next year. Good chance Leonard is still there. 8. Not a lock, and I can certainly see him drafted a little sooner, but either way, the Caps get their guy and the Habs get even higher quality draft assets.
nope if Matvei Michkov is available we take that sucker the best highest potential closest to Bedard . We take him and in 3 years or less we have that SUPERSTAR Montreal has been waiting for since Guy Lafleur , So don't get confused Montreal takes the best player available . Drop the Mike !~!
Caps and Habs move up?
I see Leonard as a potential 65 70pts. Benson as a potential 80-85.
If I'm Habs and Michkov is there at 5, I'm dealing my 5th to the Caps for their 8th and a future 1st rounder.
Montreal will not pick Michkov.
As a Flyers fan would really like to land Leonard but would LOVE MM @ 7 !!!!
I honestly think leonard is the better prospect. He’s a Thakchuk type player, a guy that can be that guy in the playoffs. I would personally have him over michkov and W. Smith.
The sharks would be idiots to not go off original mocks of michkov at 4
For some reason I feel like if the Habs aren't going to draft Michkov they should trade down a few spots and select Leonard there.
That seems very likely . He's been a great player at his level . He's off to Boston College and potentially a winger not the center montreal needs. He could be in college for four years which balances off the idea that Michkov might end up trapped in Russia for five years or forever if he's not immediately successful in the NHL. Throw in the fact that Michkov may not even want to play for Montreal so then you are the Calgary flames using Adam Fox as a throw in in the Doug Hamilton and Michael Ferland for Noah Hanifin and Elias Lindholm idea, mostly I think to create the illusion that you got some value for wasting a draft pick on Fox.
Draft someone beside Michkov.
Leonard potentially gives you a shooter, a bigger more talented Gallagher, though not someone who will go get you the puck. Potentially a blending of caufield and gallagher but a bit bigger.
Leonard is like a young Gabriel Landeskog !! Perfection fit for a top line
Habs have two choices: Michkov or Leonard. Leonard is a 70-80 pt guy that plays physical. 5’ 11”.
He’s NHL ready. He would play right wing this season.
Michkov is a 100+ pt guy and 5’ 10”. He plays a little physical and is an excellent playmaker with an excellent shot.
The KHL contract and world politics is the big knock.

I’m thinking it’s Leonard but be prepared for years of being Michkoved when he plays the Habs.
It can either way for montreal but realistically some people have said it best at 5 you wait for a prospect usually 2 years so idk why people have red flags about michkov staying this is so dumb to me like if he’s elite as everyone says he is then take him

Taking Leonard over Michkov is a mistake for MTL. We have enough safe 60 point picks. We literally need Michkov and waiting 3 years is not a big deal.

Leonard is a smaller version of Dylan Cozens in Buffalo. An absolute work horse. Cozens is a more complete player right now but it’s very similar watching him
I love Leonard, but if it comes down to Michkov and Leonard as their top option at 5th, i go all in on the Russian. Michkov is a generational talent ! That's right, a generational talent at 5th is a gift from the gods. Forget about all the rumors, he will come to the NHL in 3 years, I'm sure
Habs are always at the bottom of the league for goals for … If Michkov is there at 5 , he is the pick no question about it. Let's be real here.

You mentioned , imagine if they got Dubrois, you could have a line with Dubrois – calfield i Leonard, that would leave a first line of Suzuki – Dack and ?? maybe RJP, I don't know. Now imagine a second line of Dubrois – Michkov, and maybe Slav, that would leave Suzuki – Calfield and Dach. To me t5hat looks way more dangerous. I'll take Michkov if he is available any day.

I think they should trade the pick but if they dont i would just take reinbacher, i dont think michkov would be a fit their. They already have Caulfield…
