Bruins Trade Hall to Blackhawks in Four Player Deal

This is a good trade for both teams, gives Boston cap space to hold on to Bertuzzi.

  1. Alec Regula (Detroit pick), Tyler Bertuzzi (Detroit pick), Nick Foligno (son of Mike Foligno, a 1979 Detroit pick). Doesn't matter but it is still a random fact about this trade.

  2. 1st off great fast upload, u are one of the 1st to report the trade on mainstream media! This will help Chicago and provide a real mentor for Conor Bedard in Taylor Hall a former Hart trophey winner.Good move and trade for Chicago plus get a chance to sign Foligno again another much needed vetran with new Blood.

  3. Yooooo this is awesome! Hawks weren’t gonna resign Regula and Mitchell anyway so might as well take a free Hall and Foligno for the trouble

  4. EXCELLENT trade for CHI.
I personally want Foligno to come back home to my Columbus Blue Jackets.
We desperately need his toughness, PK, and most of all, his leadership. BRING BACK OUR CAPTAIN!!!

  5. Complete win for the Blackhawks. Bedard needs a solid vet to play with and they get a good one for not much by exploiting a team that needed to get rid of cap space. But I still wouldn’t be shocked if one of those defensemen end up turning out for the Bruins lol

  6. Fair amount of movement prior to this draft. Hall's going to Chicago at a better time than when he went to Buffalo. What a waste of time that was; drafting Kisakov w/ the pick Boston sent back might be the best Buffalo gets from that.

  7. Without real leadership in the room you don't want Hall.. one of the most overrated in the game and a total cancer in the lockerroom. I'd keep Bert over him any day of the week

  8. Ulmark’s next but can’t trade him for a handful of beans (like this trade). They’ll need a player for their lineup most likely a scorer

  9. HG, I thought Hall had a no trade and Chicago is not on his list of teams he’d accept a trade to. Did he waive it or do you think Chicago and Boston told him that he’s going to be flipped to another team that’s on his trade list and Chicago has a different asset in mind to bring in?

  10. Gm for Chicago grew up working for the sudbury wolves of the ontario hockey league and watched foligno mature.. I truly believe your right in saying he got him to help the kids see how to mature and grow up in this league. Hall is light a bottle of ketchup for hotdogs passed around more than you no what to do with it.. never been a hall fan never will be

  11. Bummer. Like Hall's 2 way game, and dislike Bertuzzi's lack of Defense. More Hall and less Bertuzzi gets Boston out of that first round in my opinion. Surprised it isn't DeBrusk moved to create cap space.

  12. Even if it was Taylor Hall for future considerations, I would still consider it a very good trade for the Bruins. You can't have a 6 mil per winger playing on a 3rd line alongside an almost 6 mil per center in the salary cap era… Both the Chicago guys we got in return are too early to write off (especially Regula probably…) and might use the change of scenery on a waaaaaay better defensively structured team than the Hawks. But again, even if purely a cap dump – I 100% fine with that

  13. hawks are going all in

there are 31 bases that want to die

then theres 1 base and the NHL who are loving life

  14. To bad for Chicago, yet another fresh start…. 1st over all and he can't fit in. Has to hurt even more when a team like Boston at the top dumps you to the bottom.

  15. This is basically a salary cap dump from Boston. Foligno is a UFA and Hall will likely score 50 points next season. Boston gets back 2 younger RFA's.

Regula is a big scrappy defenseman in the AHL. His couple fights could replace what Foligno did physically if he makes it in Boston. He'll likely play in Providence.

Mitchell is not physical but will put up ~15 pts a season. He's a 3rd pair defenseman at best on a deep Boston blue line.

IMHO Boston should have gotten a mid + late round pick. Then this is a fair trade

  16. i think boston is freeing up cap to sign Ivan barbashev. they need centers. More then likely Krejci isnt coming back or Bergeron. they need a top 6 center. hes defensive and just won.

  17. Hall should've given the Bruins the hometown discount if he wanted to stay and be a passenger, not a driver. He didn't and here he jolly well is, on another loser with a "future."

  18. Feel bad for Hall, he took a team friendly deal to help get a cup and seemed to genuinely love being in Boston not just for the team but the city. Pretty big kick in the teeth to be probably their best player in the playoffs, play on the third line giving up stats, and sign a long term deal to get dumped to Chicago for basically nothing. I get why Sweeney is doing it, he sold the future down the river for a cup that didn't come and now has to scramble to actually pay a full roster. Really sucks how it went down, reminds me of the Torey Krug debacle that the Bruins players still talk about to this day as an example for not to trust the Bruins management. Another brick on that wall.

  19. I'm a Bruins fan and i dont like it. You have an overabundance of D men and underabundance of O men. Trade some defense for offense, maybe get a draft pick or two, sign Swayman to a bridge contract. Im probably one of the few to do as little as possible, tread water with a WC and first round exit, and wait for the cap to open up in 24/25.

  20. Poor Taylor lol, he's played for some incredibly horrible teams in his career – looks like he's back to that scenario again

  21. Sad news. I like Hall and I thinks it is sad he's going to pos franchise like that.

  22. They're going to have to have some talent to go with Bedard. They also need to protect them.

  23. I don't buy that Foligno would want to go to an organization like Chicago, I feel he gets moved somewhere else like Detroit or back to Columbus
