No way that should be a goal.
That is a great goal !!
No Goal, any day of the week!
Krasaucheg uasya)
Floor ball/bandy style.
Should not of counted he was going backwards was not forward motion
Bruh
Straight out of Ryan Johansens playbook. Beautiful goal
Am I the only person who thinks this should count? The puck stops moving forwards, but it doesn't come back. I slowed it down .25x and watched it multiple times and I still think the puck moves laterally. I think what's making this look so bad is when Panarin pivots to start skating backwards. This is the key I think, he does begin skating backwards, but his direction of travel still remains lateral across the top of the crease without retreating up ice. Watch the puck and his skates at .25x, they move down towards the top of the crease, and begin to move across Stalock to his right without moving up ice. If we are going to start splitting hairs about the puck moving inches backwards by stickhandling, nothing would ever count in the shootout. I think this goal should count. What about the 'Datsyuk move'? Those have always counted and the puck is pulled backwards during the backhand toe drag.
Also, what is Stalock doing? He's super deep in his net and bites early going down into the spread eagle giving him the whole net. It's just bad goaltending. If Stalock stays with Panarin, stays towards the top of his crease when Panarin initially slows down, he would have forced a weak shot or made an easy poke check.
This is a really skilled player taking advantage of a goalie making a mistake. It's the same as the Marner goal he scored on Condon a few years back, the goalie gets completely undressed on a mistake they know they made, but in Condons case, he just whiffed on the poke check. I can show you multiple goals like this on pshots and shootout attempts in the NHL where the goalie bites early and the player waits him out by moving laterally or even stickhandling backwards and putting the puck in the empty net. They always count. This one just looks bad because Panarin made Stalock look extra stupid with how much he slowed down.
Putin hand = Hand of God!
that is 5000% not a goal lmfao
0:24 Ryan Stome wtf?
Panarin best! A clear goal!
Shouldn’t count, a shootout is a continuous motion, not skating backwards
Tech, his skate on the right turned, went in the air, and then put it back. Tbh, I’m not bias, but if you look at it, his body is not going backwards, but it’s going sideways
I saw that game agin today, he moved forward and lateral, but never back! It is a Goal.
"Took almost 3 minutes from when he picked it up…" it was 8 seconds.
he went back lol
No goal and I’m a pens fan
bang bang bang…)))
I say stalock should have poked the puck, but yeah he did skate backwards, other than that it was nasty
