I always thought Monty was a special player, my opinion never wavered .
I love watching this guy play..he is solid and cool as a cucumber! Strong and smart defence in front of him would make him a star.
The jury is still out on Monty. I hope Carey Price influences Monty's mental approach as much as any techniques he shares.
He will be a solid reliable number 1 goaltender, I think we should also consider how many shots a game the Habs gave up and how porous the defense has been the last 2 years.
Monty has been great at the world's thus showing he should be the starter in Montreal…with Byron and Price helping him he will get a lot better… has improved greatly since arriving in Montreal. sadly Primeau has shown himself as a good AHL goalie but choked when called up, Dorbes looks like the future right now.
At the very least, we know we have 50% of our future goaltending tandem. Agree that this is the new reality in the NHL. No we we just find the other guy who will push him.
monty isnt a #1,would he be the 1 with any of the teams playing now? no he would not.
they do not have a 1 in the system.
they should draft that goalie with the fla pick.
ive grown tired of second liners and backups playing first line time.
hes only around because they seem unable to draft one or develop one .and hes a good underdog story.

Mont est exactement ce que etais Price a ses debuts chez le Canadien , Mont est un parfait no 2 a ce momemt et dans deux ans l on pourra voir si il est le talent pour etre 1er net minder , en ce qui concerne les goalies en ce moment dans la nhl il n y en a pas un qui se demarque comme starr alors mont pour un rooki a de l avence sur beaucoup et il faut le fair jouer beaucoup comme premier et ce sera pour lui la chance de se placer en premiere ligne , on a besoin d un autre qui joue plus stable que nos reservistes en arriere

Regarding Beck—- I have been watching Beck very closely and I have been following another center very closely — Shane Wright…. Beck was the 11 th center picked in last years draft and I do not think he was the 11th best
Shane Wright went down to Windsor and his performance was good not great he did not put the team on his back
He then went to Coachella in the AHL and he is not contributing a lot in the playoffs
I personally believe Beck will perform better then many of the 10 centres picked above him
He has one critical component
INTELLIGENCE… the kid is not only book smart he is SMART on the ice
That quality will allow him to mild his game to what is needed
He reminds me a bit of Suzuki when I watched Suzuki in Guelph
Of all the centres from last year I think we will look back at Gaucher Savoie and Beck as being better then we thought
Mailloux. I loved that pick from day 1 regardless of all the stupid stuff

Coach… a huge event in Arizona yesterday. I was following it on PHNX SPORTS The voting public refused the vote to convert a Dump Into a tax positive Tempe Entertainment Development… there was no public tax money at stake. This was a silly move by the voting public and will have far reaching effects as there is no apparent PLAN B
I DO NOT THINK we can understate the financial importance of this on the NHL
THE NHL DESPERATELY are clinging to the large potential market
The NHL is in the business of attracting new hockey fans and this area is a huge TV MARKET close to Vegas which is now a key market… Vegas could be the next dynasty and will be competitive for years
Coach do not underestimate how big this is for the NHL and it’s Board of Governors
Monty always look sharp in net, always focused. His transition movements are fast.

Salut Coach. The 2 best reasons for MONTEMBEAULT being Montreal`s goaltender are 1: His salary 2: he`s the best one Montreal have but not worthy of a no.1 title even though he is òur`no.1.
