[Seravalli] Full trade, per sources: To Bruins: Rights to RFAs Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula. To Blackhawks: Taylor Hall, rights to UFA Nick Foligno. No salary retained by Boston, this represents a pure salary dump to clear $6 million off Bruins’ books.

You guys got two great players, hate to see them go. Congrats on the pickup!

Regula and Mitchell haven’t really lived up to the hype so makes sense

I know nothing about these guys. How am I supposed to feel?

    So essentially Hall for nothing.

Foligno is a UFA, and I don’t know what including him in the trade does. Hawks are back log-jammed with D prospects and I don’t think Mitchell or Regula were getting re-signed to make way for some of the other guys to show up.

Next year’s 1st overall, here we come!

    >!This is a joke about how teams with Taylor Hall keep getting the 1st overall pick, not about the Hawks being that bad next year, which I don’t expect to be the case!<

Can someone explain why the rights to Foligno were included if he’s just a UFA? Is it just that we have an opportunity to try to work out an extension before FA?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hawks retained some of Hall’s contract and flipped him for more assets. But either way a win win for the Hawks, because I’m certainly happy if Hall plays next to Bedard.

Mitchell didn’t really have a future here, so trading him is fine. I’m kinda upset about trading Regula, but the hype on him has decreased for the last few years.

I’m guessing we will sign Nick Foligno to a new contract. And Taylor Hall will fit in perfectly with Bedard. This season should be fun to watch

Screw the Bedard jersey, give me a Kyle Davidson jersey

So do we still get Hall’s draft lottery magic when we inevitably flip him at the deadline? Does the % we retain matter?

  11. Hutch25

Win win right there. Hawks get some great trade potential and a winger for Bedard, plus we get to dump a prospect who wasn’t gonna turn into anything for us.

Regula sucks to lose, but that’s the price you need to pay.

Let’s hope Taylor Hall gets us that first overall so we can have Micheal Misa

Huge win for Chi Town over Boston

Nick Foligno is clearly not the player he once was in his prime but he does bring that veteran leadership skills and I think he can still contribute if it is the right situation. He’ll be 36-years of age in October it he plays another season. At this age he’s looking to win a championship. The Black Hawks are no where near being a Cup contender at the moment and are just getting started on the rebuilding stages.

No draft picks given up is pretty good.

    if these two (or hall)
    -can mentor bedard

    -help the tank

    -flipped before the tradeline
