Habs management overpaying for PLD goes against, basically everything they've done so far, i think we are all worrying for nothing, hopefully he goes to LA. Give it a year or two of him playing in LA, and he will want out of there too. Overpaying for PLD is just stupid.

6000!! I actually have a weird feeling that Dubois is holding the trade up to LA because he’s demanding top dollar of 9 mill and they are offering 7.5! I have a feeling he’s willing to sign for 7.5 in Montreal if they can get a deal done! Just a sneaky suspicion! His hearts in Montreal!
The Habs signing Dubois would be a mistake on the same level as the Leafs signing Tavares. Nothing wrong with either player skill-wise, but both are not worth the money they think they deserve. Tying up too much money on less-than-sure things in a cap world is bad decision making, in my opinion. The Leafs are paying for that now, and the Habs will, too, down the road if they sign Dubois to a ridiculous contract and he starts whining again – and he will. As you guys said – patience is what's necessary, especially since we should be getting a helluva good young player in this draft. Cheers!

I think if PLD comes to Canadiens, it would ruin what they're trying to do.
Forget this guy…If …if ..he really wants to play in Montreal ..he should sign a 1 yr. Deal with L.A. …then U.F.A. over to Habs .!!! 8.2 mil. For 5 yrs. End of story.
PLD is imo just as valuable as Nick and Cole and if we could give players we don't need then sure but if his new contract is too high then no way.The problem is that He is worth the same as Nick but Nick is overpaid and imo all 3 are worth around 6.5 but if yoru getting a long term deal then sure 7 but NONE of the 3 are worth more than 7.
Kirby Dach is big time over rated and imo the REASON we over paid Nick and Cole and over rate Dach is because they are among our best players.The problem is being a best player on MTL isn't saying much right now and that is how we gave dumb contracts in the past because in an individual season players were at the top of the Habs list in stats.
