My issue with the awards is they are completely political and subjective. Last year broke me with the Josi issue and I am not going nor watching. I am a long time STH. I will be at the draft. Until these awards are more defined and stat based I am having a hard time taking them seriously.
Why isn´t anyone noticing Miro Heiskanen? 73 points season and very solid defensive play from game to game. I think it´s ridiculous that Miro Heiskanen was left outside the Top three. I also think that it´s ridiculous that best defensive forwards are rewarded but not best defending D-men. Players like Jaccob Slavin and Devon Toews will never get the Norris Trophy even though they would deserve to at least be in the discussion.
