  1. The sad thing is every team dives and every team whines. To the B's fans credit most of them I have seen so far on HFBoards, and you as well, have sufficiently called out Chara for what he did. B's fans called out Marchand for diving in the playoffs last year too. Cherry needs to get his head out of his ass and tell Chara to stop doing that.

  2. Chara doesn't do it too often, but as you said every team dives. Players know when to sell it a bit to draw calls. Unfortunately it's just a part of the game at this point, and I credit that fact to bad and inconsistent officiating.

Pretty much all anyone has to do is look at the amount of power plays each team has had this season to tell how much diving goes on within the franchise.

For the record, Montreal is in first in that category, Boston is last.

  3. The fact that it's a part of the game is really, truly scary for hockey. If this keeps up hockey is going to be the NBA at some point…and I'm no NBA fan, let's leave it at that. Either the players need to get it out of their system or the refs need to get better it's either one or the other.

  4. Really doesnt matter they call everything. No reasons to grab jersey unless your fighting

  5. In this league you are penalized for being strong cause if you power through everything you won't draw a penalty until you do act like you just got tasered

  6. Well, human error is a part of sports. Just sucks when players and/or officials can manipulate calls.

  7. i'm 6'9, 279 pounds. in other words, chara's height and heavier. there is NO WAY a danish kid (or any other european) lightly tugs at my jersey and i fall on my ass. then again, im not the klutz chara is but for a guy who did a spin-o-rama this year, come on… draw the line. call him out julien!! 🙂

  8. Full respect to Jagr for that. Him, Bergeron and Seguin are the only notable players I like on that team

  9. No shit he's a fucking bruin of course he's gonna dive and of course he's gonna get away with it

  10. Yes, that, and the fact that Lars Eller IS. A. BEAST! Roll his postgame press release, please.

  11. Lars Eller: 6' 2'', 209 lbs — Zdeno Chara: 6' 9'', 255 lbs. Yeah, Chara fuckin dove (but still one of the best defencemen in the league)

  12. Yeah on second look it wasn't a dive. Eller had a hold of Chara's jersey and you have to remember Chara is 6'9. Big guys like that often have bad feet. I've seen it in basketball time and again with players like Yao Ming who were super talented…but he was 7'6 and players that tall don't have the best of feet.

  13. I'm a bruins fan and ill admit that he definitely helped it along. I don't know why because our PP sucks. I'd rather see us short handed then on the power play.

  14. Chara has great feet. Have you ever seen him skate? Chara is the strongest guy in the league. I guess Eller is going to give him a good run for the title, uh?

  15. I've seen him skate. Whether he is a great skater or not, he's still 6'9. It's still the law of physics. Guys that big are going to always have problems with their feet (like Yao Ming in basketball).

  16. If it is a dive, Chara gets an A+ for acting, even in slow motion it looks like he lost balance, but I don't get to watch the bruins much so I wouldn't know
