I like it, both of these guys can be flipped at the deadline for more assets.
And that’s the floor! Hopefully the Hawks aren’t done and can pick up some assets for the remaining cap space.

Veteran presence we badly need and getting to the floor ahead of the draft should give us more leverage to trade up.

this happened fast. I assume another bottom-6 FWD signing/trade and a veteran goalie on a bad contract (Murray, Peterson, Dreidger).
Could be a decent trade chip at the deadline no?
Foligno gives us some leadership/grit and can play up and down the lineup. 4m is a bit of an overpay but it’s a 1-year-deal and now we aren’t under the gun to reach the cap floor.

I love that every time I see a signing, it’s 1-3yr max at a reasonable price with great value for the team. KD is a fucking machine.
2 first rounders 23′ to 25′ and a shit ton of 2nd rounders. Tons of cap space. We’re coming back way faster than people could have predicted.
Good move on our part. Veteran leadership, helps us hit the floor, and we could flip him at the deadline if necessary.

Foligno is a highly respected vet leader in the league, and this is a huge get for the rebuilding hawks with a lot of young guys. He’s gonna be an awesome locker room presence.
