Not surprised, kid needs fresh start

I’m ok with this, he had one good season in the COVID-shortened year but since then he has been one of the laziest players I’ve ever watched he even stopped being as physical as he used to be which if he’s not scoring is the only thing he was bringing to the game.

Maybe a change of scenery will re-ignite his love for the game or maybe he’ll just continue his downward spiral, either way, I’m glad we’re not the ones paying him there’s no way he was worth the 2.4M dollars we would’ve had to pay him with the QO

Could at least try to pack him somewhere in a trade. I see him sign in Tampa and score 40pts or more

  4. Expected; he wasn’t playing up to the level it would’ve paid him. He needs a change and the only reason to qo him would’ve been as a $2.5m gamble that a new head coach would be enough of a change for him to bounce back.

Hopefully this opens up a spot for somebody like Regenda – or any of the other young wingers who might impress in preseason.

Feel bad that he never really found his spot in the lineup. He seemed to never really ‘fit’ anywhere perfectly. I’ll be curious to see how he does under a different coach, and new environment.

Wish we would’ve given him a one year ticket as a bit of a prove it deal but I guess we’re moving on and I wish him well

wonder if the WJC 2018 hockey canada investigation has anything to do with this. that full report cannot come soon enough in my opinion, for all the good it would do since the harm has already been done and the league isn’t really interested in justice or consequences of any kind. closure and clarity would still be nice.

edit: I hit publish on accident.

If no one qualifies him, he becomes UFA, right? I wouldn’t mind him on a one year league min to see if it was him or the tank commander that was the issue.

That’s a shame, I’d hoped he would’ve gotten a one year “prove it” deal as it seemed he just didn’t fit Eakins’ system and had a somewhat antagonistic relationship with the former coach.

There were unreasonable expectations of him after his 20-21 season, when in my opinion what should’ve been expected was for him to just drive the slot and hit people.

My biggest issue with this is that players who have produced less like Leason and McGinn could have a spot on the roster over Comtois. It also looks like the 2017 draft has turned out to be a failure for the Ducks.

Bro has no foot speed anymore anyone know what happened ? He seems injured.

  10. I feel like this is going to be another Sonny Milano situation. He’s not going to get qualified, and end up somewhere else and find his footing. IMO, they should qualify him. Worst case scenario, he goes to arbitration, and we walk away from him. By then, the Terry, Zegras, and Drysdale deals should be done, so we will know if he’s affordable or not. $2.55m isn’t a terrible cap hit when we’re gonna be bottom feeders again.

Expected, but I have a feeling he will find a stride elsewhere.

Ya he got bigger and slower this season and if I remember correctly was come off an injury
