  1. LAkings trade away rights to right shooting forwards, leaving Arvidsson. Win for the Jets.

  2. LA has fantastic weather year round, beautiful location (at least where the player lives, not including downtown), beaches, and a chance to play in a location where not every play is under a microscope by the media. I know PLD has this track record of wanting out of teams, but I can’t see where else he would want to go, especially after signing an 8 year extension. If he had doubts about the Kings, he either wouldn’t have signed an extension, or would have just signed a 2-3 year deal when the cap goes up. Maybe I’m being naive, but I really think PLD is going to want to stay here, and be a solid performer.

  3. So the Wpg Jets effectively traded the #2 pick in the deepest draft in the 10 years previous to 2016 for the number 3 pick from the same draft and had to add the #25 pick from 2015 despite the fact that his team was sending the best player involved away… and then he trades that for the #11 pick from the weakest draft in 25 years without even getting the Kings top young player ….but yeah … let’s talk about how Cheveljerkoff did a great job!!!

  4. Very happy that the Habs decided against the trade, this is a lot of assets going the Jets' way. I like PLD but not for what the Jets wanted in return. So I agree, Winnipeg wins this trade.

  5. Jets got more than I was expecting. I'm happy PLD didn't get his way in going to Montreal. I don't want the NHL turning into NBA with players making demands on where they go

  6. Very good return for the Jets considering just a week ago the thought was they were only going to get a low pick for him. Now they just need to keep helle around or find a good replacement…

  7. What in the h-e-double–hockey-sticks was Rob Blake thinking? He falls in love with players and gives up too much for them and/or gives them way too much money and term. He gave up Vilardi, Iafallo and a second for PLD. The guy we traded to get that second was Durzi so he basically traded Vilardi, Iafallo and Durzi for a second line center who may want to go somewhere else in a year or two. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO IN GOAL? That was our biggest need.

Blake needs to go. Maybe he can join Petersen wherever he is.

  8. JETS WIN! MTL thought they were getting PLD for nothing and were harassing WPG fans endlessly about it. He who laughs last, laughs hardest. OLE OLE OLE right back at ya HABS fans! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  9. Vilardi is good, and I'm bummed as every Kings fan is to see him go, but this was truly his only breakout year. Before this year he was injury plagued and kinda inconsistent, so I can understand if Rob Blake in negotiating thought Vilardi's asking price going forward was too high. Iafallo and Kupari also made a ton of contributions, and it sucks to see them go too, but I think Kings fans should be seeing this as a way to make salary cap room, so we can also nab a better goalie. I don't think Blake's done yet.

  10. I'm actually hoping to see PLD play LW more than C. In any case a lefty power forward is a great fit for the Kings' style.

  11. PLD always was missing something for me. Maybe it’s his attitude cause it me always “I want to leave this team” with him. Idk man, for some reason he just doesn’t stand out to me.

  12. I don't like it. Vilardi had more points per 60 then Pierre. Iafallo is an increadibly valuable player. He is tenacious on the puck and gets to pucks quick. He was great on the 1st line with Kopi and Brown. Kupari is like a Lars Eller type and can help the PK. It was too much for a 60 point guy who is physical is some senses but why not give up Byfield, Kupari, and a 2nd. That would be way better. Kaliyev can go too. Whatever. They should have kept Gabe and Iafallo. Both were Kings already and in the organization for quite some time. What is Byfields worth, anyway. Would you be able to swap him for a top 5 pick in this years draft. Meh…Durzi gone for a 2nd next year and now this. I am quite displeased.

  13. What the fuck was rob Blake thinking. This guy is problem his whole career and has done nothing that special to even ask for trades as often as he has. Vilardi is just as good alone. Fuck this trade

  14. That's a haul and a half for PLD. Vilardi surprised they traded, but Iafallo, Kup and a 2nd too? There's value everywhere whereas it's all on Dubois now, but that C core for La is perhaps underratedly nasty now.

  15. Kings got fleeced. PLD isn't going to change, he's just going to request another trade in a few years.

  16. As an Oilers fan, thank you LA for this trade! Iafallo and Vilardi were both very annoying against us in the playoffs, kings are crazy to trade away 3 young players and a 2nd for PLD. Thanks LA! Lol

  17. Jets got dept on this one, great trade for them. 3 good middle 6 guys and 2 of them are 22,23 years old + a 2nd round pick. Great return

  18. I was suprised LA gave up 3 players and a pick but it's a by product of drafting/trading well because they have upcoming players that need playtime who fill similar roles. Grundstrum is a hard working defensive forward much like Iafallo and Turcotte should plug in as a 4C. I just hope PLD is motivated to proove he's worth his new contract. Hopefully his production is somewhere in the ballpark of 25-30 goals and 60-70 points. Jets fans should be happy with the return but they still have many question marks with Wheeler, Hellebuyck, and Scheifele.

  19. Someone else’s problem, 😂😂😂too bad this quitters dream of playing in Montreal is over lmao, Jets win this easy

  20. DuBois is a 2nd line talent with the high-maintenance diva attitude of a 1st line player. One of the most inconsistent, moody players in the NHL.

  21. I am the only one who thinks that's a big overpayment? Other than Shannon's point that they hope he becomes a 1C…

  22. Still don't understand why everyone is after Dubois…over-rated. The jets just killed it with this deal, Vilardi alone could end up being better than Dubois on his own.

  23. Do not get me wrong, it's a decent trade for the Jets but it's not the fleece people say it is.

Dubois is clearly the best player in the deal and he's only 25. Villardi is 24 in a month and could have some potential but it's not there yet. He's a big guy with good abilities so who knows maybe he'll make the Kings regret this. Iafallo is a salary dump and overpaid as a bottom 6 guy, though he does have some leadership abilities, Kupari will also probably only be a bottom 6 guy. There's a 2nd rounder who will probably be around 45th in 2024.

That said, man that's a huge contract for Dubois… 8,5M AAV for 8 years, he better deliver because that might be a problem pretty quickly if he stays around the 60 points mark. People have complained about better players getting less money but we'll see how he pans out.

  24. Jets get three unproven guys to join the moose and a scratch ticket for the second round in 2024. What a joke. If this isn’t a rebuild I don’t know what is. They better continue to clean house cause this isn’t enough for a retool

  25. As a kings fan, i absolutely hate this trade. I dont want a diva that looks to be traded every other year and then half asses when it doesnt happen. Especailly for vilardi, who is a heart and soul guy who needs to get away from McClellan system (vilardi was leading kings with goals and never got any ot time most of last season) or iafallo a great jack of all trades player who showed up in big games
