Sam Lafferty took Radko Gudas into the boards and then threw him to the ice. Is it boarding? Is it holding? Or is it nothing like it was called? Have your say!
perfectly fine. He rode him into the boards in a controlled manner with Lafferty wrapping him as well before the hit. the falling down part … it wasn;t like he slammed into the ice. Now where is the matthew knies hit. looking to see that one.
I would have called holding as his free hand was clearly wrapped around Gudas, and that is holding all day. Boarding? Not so much. Gudas' body turned after the hit was initaited and he wasnt hit in the numbers, nor did he really go into the boards. If anything, the holding of Gudas protected him from the boards. Throwing him is just playoff hockey imo, like when you hit someone and youre like 'get the fuck off outta here .' If he held on to him while he fell that would be a little different. I agree with holding here, although for the playoffs it is a weak call. There was nothing dirty about this really. I think a lot of people blow these situations out of proportion and really show their lack of knowledge of the sport. DPS should be no where near this play. It was not dangerous at all. Penalties called arent based on danger, they are based on preventable situations that illegally prohibit a player from making a play. That is all. This was not dirty, this was not dangerous it was a clear holding but who the fuck cares?
This is fine and the Bennett one is fine. That’s playoff hockey folks. The only difference is one victim got hurt and is a 20 kid and one is an enforcer no one likes…and leafs fans.
The cross check by Bennett I’ll totally admit was rough. Probably fine worthy.
Compared to the shit that the Panthers were getting away with this is nothing. It was meant to injure like the dirty play of Tkachuk or Bennett on Knies.
what makes this dirty and dangerous is he essentially blocks both of Gudas' arms from being able to brace the boards. But i mean essentially its a holding penalty
Grabbed him from behind and slammed him. Refs didn't call anything so panthers figured that's the way it is and you end up with knies getting his tit for tat. Leafs douches will have a different take though

Man handled.
Bannett’s slam was cleaner than this. 2 for roughing
Imagine if this was allowed how stupid the sport would be.

Nothing wrong with it. He could have really run hm but kind of let up.
