Coyotes president & CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez reiterates something that I have written/noted multiple times: The Coyotes are hoping to get this arena approved/built without a public vote being necessary.

I’m torn on this. I know that zoning laws and things need to be in place and that it doesn’t happen over night.
The first just seems like such a long time away though
I’d rather this take longer up front and all necessary hurdles are cleared versus prematurely announcing it and another option fails.
When he says “announce something” after the new year it makes me nervous and excited.
If it’s “we made progress and will have more for you soon” we might be cooked.
If it’s “the plan is this location on this timeline, construction starts next month” then this is great!
More wait and see….
On 98.7, Gutierrez just said the goal is to still be shovel ready on the same timeline that TED would have been.
