I am not going to be able to sleep tonight after Adam falling to us. I had a strange feeling all day that the Ducks could deviate from predictions, and this young man could fall in our lap. This is two years in a row I have been so excited about our 1st picks in the draft (though I was pretty darn excited when we drafted Johnson, as well). As much as I love Jiricek, Johnson, and the rest of our youngsters, the drafting of Fantilli just has that extra little something special. There is no doubt that we have the best prospect pool in the League now.
The great thing I find about this year's draft class is, not just our boy Adam, but it seems like this class is not just exceptionally gifted on the ice (especially the top echelon guys), but they are all equally as good of people, and they all seem truly humble….even Michkov. I don't know why I expected him to be a bit arrogant, and he was anything but. All I know is that with us getting Fantilli, and him being excited to come here, I feel like a little kid at Christmas. I will be STEAMED if Babcock mistreats this kid….however much time he manages to get in at Nationwide next season. I am sure Johnny, Zach, Damon, Boone, Gudbranson etc. will look after our young lads, though.
